Let's talk Recovery in 2024.

We all fall off the wagon for various reasons, and we can all beat ourselves up for it.

In 2021 something happened in my life which destroyed my mental health and confidence. Over the following 2 years it took my physical and emotional health.

After a heart scare in late 2023 I used the last 2 months to get myself in a place mentally to address my health.

On 27th Dec 2023 I took the first step back on track.

Now you may say that getting back on track mid Christmas is a bad idea and your setting yourself up to fail. I disagree and here's why;

1. I was in the right place mentally to start. Kicking the can down the road would impact that positive mindset and make it unlikely I would start.

2. The period in-between Christmas and New Year is often without structure or meaning for most people. It's a perfect opportunity to start something new.

3. You can start to improve health after the Christmas blow out, even if you are having a big celebration New Year. Even knocking 0.5lbs off is a big incentive to carry on after New Year.

By 31st Dec 2023 I'd lost 1.8lb. New Year's Day is my birthday. I celebrated. Today I had "gained" 1.1lb. I know that is mostly water retention from the alcohol and sugar, and I'll lose it within the next week.

The main takeaway is that in that dead space across Christmas I lost 0.9lb. I'm proud of that! If I can do that across Christmas I can do it in 2024.

Of course, recovery also means setbacks and lapses. I know I have to acknowledge when these happen but not let them define me or derail me.

Another successful journey completed! The individual concerned has now appeared on the celebrity show they wanted to train for.

This means I have ONE space available from 8th January 2024.

If you are struggling to keep your pet because of financial strains please contact an animal charity. They can help you with money, or they can help you with rehoming.

Please, please, please do not abandon your pets in bins, at the side of the road, at charity gates, or anywhere else.

Rehoming is traumatic enough for pets please don't add to their distress or yours.

Instagram still claim I am not me. Their AI bot doesn't like it when people age apparently. Which is odd becuase all humans age. It's natural.

Instagram has locked me out of my Insta account because it cannot verify that I am the owner of Uruz Eihwaz Personal Training and Fitness.

Why can't it verify?

Because I stopped dying my hair 18 months ago and embraced being a mature personal trainer. This means that their AI face recognition software doesn't work.
