Yesterday’s session was extra special thanks to Chloe, one of the amazing service users who joined in and absolutely shone throughout the training 🌟

Her enthusiasm, confidence, and willingness to share her skills in managing the gastrostomy made the session truly memorable — not just for me, but for everyone involved. 🙌

Chloe’s participation reminded us all how powerful it is to include people with lived experience in training. It brings learning to life, builds empathy, and creates a real connection between knowledge and practice ❤️

✨ Another great training day with Discovery staff! ✨

Today, we at Train with Care delivered a Dysphagia (Swallowing Difficulties) Workshop at the YMCA Hub in Street 🏠💬

It was such a lovely, engaging, and enthusiastic group, full of energy, great questions, and genuine commitment to improving care for people with swallowing difficulties 💙

We explored:

🧠 The reasons and risks of dysphagia and its impact on safety and quality of life
🥤 How to get the thickening of drinks just right using the IDDSI framework
🍽️ Practical examples of food texture modification
🚨 What to do when choking occurs, including a refresher on Resuscitation Council's First Aid approaches and the use of Europe Limited®
🏷️ And discussed companies providing excellent Dysphagia-friendly food and drink options

Meet Rebecca and her amazing team! 🩵

Yesterday, Care Link Training Solutions, Sean Villiers had the absolute pleasure of delivering bespoke, person-centred training for Rebecca and her team right in her home. The training included First Aid, Positive Support, and Handling, tailored to Rebecca’s real routines and needs. 🌿

Working in her own environment allowed Sean to fully understand her unique care needs and support the team in a way that was practical, meaningful, and centred on Rebecca’s daily life. The team practised, reflected, and built confidence, ensuring every aspect of care promotes Rebecca’s safety, comfort, and independence. 🎯

It’s inspiring to see such dedicated, compassionate professionals working together to make a real difference. Sean’s enthusiasm and expertise really shone through, and it was a privilege to witness how thoughtful, person-centred care transforms lives every day. 💛

On Thursday we had an amazing day delivering Oliver McGowan Tier 1 & Tier 2 training with delegates from Royal Devon and Exeter University Hospital NHS Trust! 🎉 This session brought together a fantastic mix of professionals, creating a space for great discussions and learning.
