Our drivers were out from 4pm yesterday gritting all Priority One Routes again and they also did an additional run on Priority One Routes at 7pm yesterday evening due to changing weather conditions. The crews have again been gritting all Priority Two routes throughout the day and have been out since 4pm again this afternoon to grit all Priority One Routes again.
Our footpath routes in towns and the city centre were gritted again from 5am this morning and they will be gritted again tomorrow morning from 5am. Highways staff alongside colleagues from cleansing and parks have been out filling grit bins and hand gritting pavements outside schools across the district.

Bin collections are currently suspended and unfortunately are unlikely to resume until next week. We will review conditions again tomorrow Thursday (9 January) and again on Friday (10 January) and attempt collections where it is deemed safe to do so. We will provide an update as soon as any further information is available. You can sign up to receive email alerts about bin collections and waste on our website - link in comments.
Household Waste Recycling Centres at Bowling Back Lane in Bradford and Royd Ings Avenue in Keighley will be open again tomorrow from 9am. However our three other HWRCs will remain closed until a review of the sites has taken place in the morning to see if they are safe to open.
All available operational staff across the council will continue to be assigned alternative duties to assist with gritting and the clearance of snow and ice, as well as filling grit bins across the district. All available council 4x4 vehicles are also continuing to be used to support council services - including home care visits, childrenβs centres and bereavement services.
Our Homeless Outreach Partnership is out every day, all year round supporting rough sleepers and helping them into accommodation. If you are worried about someone sleeping rough in the district use StreetLink to help connect them with local services - link in comments
All our grass sports pitches will be closed this coming weekend Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January 2025. The pitches will be inspected next Thursday 16 January 2025 and we are hopeful that fixtures can return to normal next weekend.
