Northumbrian Woodland Burials is located at Bockenfield Wood, near the village of Felton, in rural Northumberland. Part of a former World War 2 RAF base, planning consent was given for change of use of the land into a woodland burial ground and 16,000 trees were subsequently planted to lay the footprint of the site. Made up of a mix of indigenous Northumbrian broad leaf trees these are now startin

g to mature nicely after early losses from hares, rabbit and rodents. Despite its rural location the site has excellent road links directly off the A1 and the area is fairly level making access easy for all. is a small, independent, family run concern and is not affiliated or connected to any councils, religions or other large corporate organisations.

11am Children’s Easter Egg Hunt

The chapel doors will be open from 10am for anyone who would like to grab a cuppa and go for a walk on site. Park in the main car park and make your way down to the goat paddocks where we hope the Easter Bunny will be waiting 🐣🤞🏻🍫

Join us for a lovely Easter morning filled with animals, fresh air, and fun for the little ones!

10:00am – Meet the woodland herd.
Come and learn all about our goats, say hello to the herd, and meet our adorable newest arrivals!

11:00am – Children’s Easter Egg Hunt.
Let the hunt begin in the woodlands next to the goat paddock – plenty of fun and treats to be found! 🍫🥚

☕ Refreshments available.
Our chapel doors will be open if you’d like to pop in and grab a complimentry takeaway tea or coffee while you enjoy the morning or visit a loved one.

We’ve recently installed a “Letters to Loved Ones” post box at the entrance to Clarefield Meadow.

This post box is here all year round for anyone visiting who would like to take a quiet moment to write to someone they miss. Whether it’s sharing a memory, a message, or simply a few words from the heart, it can be a gentle and meaningful way to feel close to those no longer with us. 🌿✉️

With Mother’s Day approaching this Sunday, we know many people will be thinking of mums and loved ones they are remembering. If you’re visiting Clarefield Meadow this weekend, you’re warmly invited to write a letter and place it in the post box.

But this space isn’t just for special occasions — it’s here whenever you need it, offering a small moment of reflection and connection throughout the year. 🖤

Welcome in the spring season & join us for a creative afternoon with Swarlando Blooms Floristry learning how to make a living spring wreath.

Sunday 29th March at 12pm.

All tools, materials, fresh seasonal foliage & an assortment of spring bulbs will be provided. No prior experience is required. Sonya will provide a full step by step demonstration how to create your
moss based living wreath. The bulbs will grow & bloom to give you flowery joy throughout the spring season!

The wreath can adorn your front door or be placed in the woodland burial site as a memorial tribute to a loved one.

The cost is £55 per person & full payment is required to confirm your place. Light refreshments will be provided.

We were honoured to hold a deeply meaningful remembrance service and to share such a loving evening together. Thank you to Sarah, Dale, Rich and our dedicated staff for supporting the families and loved ones who attended.
