✨HELPFUL POINTERS✨

Few things to consider while doing absolutely any exercise-

1️⃣Mobility
2️⃣Flexibility
3️⃣Stability
4️⃣Activation

Aswell as making sure you have good form, these 4 pointers are also very important to consider & people tend to neglect these. Especially flexibility, in reality who has time to stretch before every session? I won’t lie I don’t but it’s not something you can fully neglect because overtime it may cause issues in the future.

So, abit of advice for all those going back to the gym on Monday, take your time, perfect your form & don’t go full steam ahead with the weights, your body will not be able to cope with the weight you could lift beforehand, trust me you don’t want to come out with any tears or strains a couple of days later 👌

Ask yourself these questions🔽
1️⃣Can I execute the exercise effectively?
2️⃣Does my knee wobbly? If so, is it lacking stability?
3️⃣My ankle is feeling a little stiff in the downward phase? It is lacking mobility?

We’re doing it guys....

Between April 1st - April 30th I’m taking part in the Cystic Fibrosis Running Festival, where I will have to complete a total of 26 miles 💛
__

Now 26 miles may not seem a lot to some people but this is going to be a MASSIVE challenge for me. I’m still in the recovery stage from last year so it’s going to be tough re-training my lungs again, with only 41% lung function.
I’m nowhere near the runner like I used to be but I wanted a challenge & to raise money for a great cause 💛
__

Having CF I know first hand the amazing work that the trust do, not only do they invest in research but they also support us families on a personal level 💛
__

I’m not only doing this for me but I’m also doing this for all those people with CF who don’t have access to the life saving drugs yet 💛
__

Each run will be recorded via strava then uploaded to the funding page, so your more than welcome to follow my journey 💛

Over on my Instagram I’ve just posted some easy exercises that can be done from home to help with ankle instability.

Ankle sprains can be a nagging issue that seems to drag on. I suffered from an ankle sprain when I was young and my ankle hasn’t recovered since. It’s become much weaker and my balance is all over the place (you can clearly see in the clips & I’m being fully transparent with this).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of my clients for the continued support, cooperation and understanding you have shown throughout 2020.


Although this has been the worst year to date for myself due to health reasons & Covid coming along, I’ve worked my a*se off to get to where I am today 👊


I’ve had amazing opportunities rise that I’m so thankful for. A massive thank you to all the management and players , working alongside these guys is a massive privilege & hoping it continues 🙏


I opened my business fully during the first lockdown and it’s truly been amazing, without the help of and at , by offering me a room to be based in, I’m so thankful for 🤝


I will be back to work January 4th raring to go, Merry Christmas, Happy New year and stay safe!🎅🏻🎄

Small but obvious improvement over the course of 45 minutes.
Had the smallest ni**le and tightness around the shoulder & chest area but this still affected his training.

By the end of the session full range of motion was restored and the right side of the body wasn't compensating for the other.

✨BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING✨

BFR also known as occlusion training.
Rapidly enhances muscle physiology - muscle strength, power and endurance, its known to be used to help rehabilitate athletes after any injuries or surgeries.

Typically works by applying a substantial amount of pressure onto the body part. The strap/cuff should be placed at the proximal part of the limb for safety & to avoid any nerve damage. This then restricts the venous blood flow. Return flow of deoxyegnated blood is essentially stemmed & this creates the blood flow restriction aspect.
°
°
Due to the build up of deoxygenated blood in one area it creates a hypoxic environment (hypoxia-lack of oxygen essentially). As there's a lack of oxygen, slow twitch fibres cannot produce energy & contract so they rapidly fatigue, therefore the fast twitch fibres are recruited to help you contract.
