At the recent Expo in Wooler, I had a 'Gut Symptoms' jar in which visitors popped their gut health questions. There was a very good question - Why is the Bristol Stool Chart called 'Bristol' Stool?
Well Charlie Kenny, here's the reason: The Bristol Stool Chart is named after its place of origin, the Bristol Royal Infirmary in Bristol, England, where it was developed by Stephen Lewis and Ken Heaton in the 1990s. They created the chart to provide a simple clinical tool for assessing stool form and estimating colon transit time by classifying stools into seven different types.
Question answered :-)
PS It also answers one of my previous post questions 'what does a nutritional therapist need with so much chocolate?'
