NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies

NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies offers a free psychological therapies service. This ensures the therapy works well and increases your chance of recovery.

We offer a range of Psychological Therapies or what some people refer to as ‘Talking Therapies’. At first contact a therapist will talk about your challenges and difficulties and work out with you what approach might best suit you. There will be certain problems that could respond well to one or two types of therapy; the clinician will work out with you which therapy option will be most appropriate. All of our clinical staff are trained to the highest level in the therapies they deliver. Our therapy is flexible and can be delivered over the telephone, via video, face to face, one to one and in groups. Below is the name given to some of the therapies that have been shown to work best with what are called ‘common mental health problems’, such as depression, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, obsessional compulsive problems, trauma and bereavement:

• Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
• Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CCBT)
• Counselling for Depression
• Couple Therapy for Depression
• Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)
• Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
• Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
• Psycho-Educational/ Group Therapy

It’s more than just a ball. ⚫️

At AMC we have the ‘talking ball’ for a few reasons…

1. It gives you the power to talk.
2. It acts as a stress ball and something to fidget with when you are talking.
3. It means there’s absolutely no pressure to talk. Don’t want to talk yet? Just pass it along.

Whether you’re ready to talk or just want to come along and listen, you’re welcome at our groups.

Open to any man 18+, every Monday 7-9pm (excluding bank holidays). Visit our website to find your nearest group or drop us an email to info@andysmanclub.co.uk to join our online groups. ❤️

Today is Time to Talk Day - promoting the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s a day for friends, families, communities and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.
We all have mental health and by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.
