The Wild West is starting to close down.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has released its long-awaited response to the 2023 consultation on aesthetic regulations - marking a major shift in how non-surgical cosmetic procedures will be delivered in England.
â ď¸ While this is a significant step forward, for now many medical procedures will continue to be performed by non-medics without medical training or clinical accountability.
đ Whatâs coming:
- A new licensing scheme for practitioners and premises
- Only healthcare professionals to perform high risk treatments like BBLs
- Mandatory CQC premises for invasive procedures
- Licensing of BotoxÂŽ and dermal fillers by local authorities
- Under-18s protected (no treatment without clinical need)
- Strict requirements for training, safety, and insurance
đ A further consultation is due early 2026 to finalise the details.
âď¸ Your voice matters, we must stay engaged.
