Hi Yogis
Yoga via Zoom next Saturday 30th October 10-11.15am with me
Pam Snowball
My theme is Fabulous Feet. We’ll be exploring our lovely feet throughout the session focusing on balance in some lovely postures and a wee bit of reflexology.
The Zoom details are the same and can be found at the top of the YN On line page, also all the details you’ll need will be in an email which will come from Sue Harding Smith.
I won’t be hosting any more Yoga Northumberland monthly sessions for BWY as I’ve decided to resign and cancel my membership.
There are some people attached to the centre of BWY that are causing a lot of problems and pain to those who tirelessly volunteer their time to bring you quality yoga. I cannot continue to support an organisation that does this.
I will be doing my own Saturday monthly zoom yoga sessions 10-11am going forward. I will plan these not to coincide with BWY monthly sessions wherever possible. If you’re interested you can contact me direct at snowballpam@hotmail.com for details.
Many many thanks for all your amazing support over the years.
Pam

I have a ‘Super Saturday’ of yoga on the 25th September ‘21.
Starting with a Zoom Sun Salutation Session 10-11am, only £5, on the usual zoom link, with yours truely, followed by some wonderful Face to Face Yoga with the fabulous Noel Sharpe at Stannington Village Hall in the afternoon *1.30-3.30pm.
If you’d like a morning zoom or come along to Stannington (or both) please let me know.
Here’s some information on Noel and his session:
Noel is the holder of a BWY teaching diploma. He has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and has been teaching since 2007. He has practiced and takes inspiration from many different styles of yoga. Until the present health crisis he regularly taught around the region as well as in Turkey and India. He has taught in various environments including prisons, colleges, and gyms and at BWY congress. Noel adapts his style of teaching depending who he is teaching. Most of all Noel believes that yoga should be enjoyable.
*Noel’s session is at the revised time of 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Cost is £6 for BWY members £7 for non members.
In this class we will, deepen our hatha yoga practice by familiarising ourselves with our own bodies and breath patterns. We will explore the relationship between body, breath and mind how subtle changes and increased awareness can derive emotional benefits.

Thanks for joining
Kate Knowles for the lovely restful Menopause Yoga session yesterday, perfect start to our Saturday 🙏

27/08/2021

Set your reminder for a fabulous zoom yoga session led by
Kate Knowles
tomorrow at 10am
Theme is the Menopause

18/08/2021

Hi Lovelies
Hope you’re all well and enjoying the summer!
We have a fabulous yoga session focused on Menopause, via Zoom on
28th August; Zoom room opens 9.45am to get settled and we will start at 10am and close around 11.15am.
We are Welcoming Kate Knowles to Yoga Northumberland.
Kate has been teaching yoga since 2004, and specialised in Menopause Yoga with Petra Coveney in 2020 and Yoga for Menopause with Birthlight in 2021. Since then she has been teaching weekly classes to women at all stages of menopause, and has recently qualified as a BWY CPD tutor in Yoga for Menopause. So many women find this transitional time incredibly challenging, and yoga can really help women to cope with some of the symptoms they encounter. The support of other women is incredibly nurturing and nourishing, so all classes provide ample opportunity for conversation in our women’s circles.
£4 for BWY Members £5 for non members
Zoom details remain the same, if you need these or the bank details, they are available at the top of the Yoga Northumberland On Line page or please contact me.

A big thank you to the lovely
Laura Ridgeon for a wonderful yoga session this morning at Stannington Village Hall
Apologies for not confirming this session via email 🙏

27/07/2021

Hello lovely Yogis
Laura Ridgeon joins us for our first face to face yoga at Stannington on Saturday 10-12pm
I hope you can join us 🙏

19/07/2021

Hi Yogis
Well we’re back at Stannington on July 31st to welcome the lovely
Laura Ridgeon.
We’ll be starting 10am prompt and finishing at 12pm
£6 for BWY members £7 non members.

I know when I asked you about returning to face to face yoga, of those who responded, there was more or less a 50/50 split of views. Sue Harding Smith is balloting yogis again with some specific options so if you haven’t already voted, please do.
In the mean time I’m introducing our first face to face yoga workshop in quite some time.
I’m using Lateral Flow Covid Testing and would encourage you to do the same. This is not a requirement, but useful in the fight to stop further spread and as with everything else, Covid guidelines apply.

So to Laura; she’s been practicing yoga since the age of sixteen, when she attended her first classes in Iyengar Yoga. Laura wanted to do something spiritual but non religious, and has practiced a wide range of yoga, drawing on different styles in her own classes. Yoga has helped Laura cope through stress, anxiety, depression, university, work, pregnancy, and new motherhood. Keeping her grounded, balanced, positive, and relaxed.

Her theme will be "Taking care of the little, little things" enjoying an exploration of simple movements, done well, inspired by a reading from Sri Swami Satchidananda.

Laura and I very much look forward to seeing you lovely yogis on the 31st!
NB Our August session will be via Zoom.
Namaste
Pam

Thanks so much to Sandra Corlett for her lovely yoga session on Saturday morning 🙏

22/06/2021

Sandra Corlett has some yummy yoga for us this Saturday 10-11.15am
Reminder - use Tyne & Wear Zoom details for this session yogis! 🙏

16/06/2021

Hi Yogis
Here’s the details of our next yoga session on the 26th June’21 for Yoga Northumberland with Sandra Corlett.
Session is 10-11.15am
£4 bwy members £5 non members.

Sandra started practising yoga 40 years ago and completed the British Wheel of Yoga Diploma in 2017. The primary influence for her teaching and practice came from her Diploma Course Tutor, Maureen McCarthy, whose classes she first attended in the 1990s and regularly for the last ten years. Recently Sandra’s teaching has incorporated ideas from Martha Peterson’s somatic practices and from various regional and international tutors. Since the pandemic Sandra has been teaching via Zoom and has recently restarted face-to-face classes, at the Blue Flames Sporting Club in Benton.

The workshop’s summer-related theme is inspired by Terri Hilder who first introduced Sandra to the idea of combining Savitri breathing and asana practices, on the Diploma course. Savitri, the feminine form for Savitu (the Sun), is sometimes referred to as the Goddess of solar harmony. By using a four part breath, we will aim to create harmony of breath and movement, and bring balance and calmness to body and mind.

Zoom details are different for this session as Sue is organising on my behalf as I’m lucky enough to be going to my nieces wedding. Please contact Sue or Sandra directly for these details.

Bank details are the same as last month and shown at the top of the Yoga Northumberland On-Line Page.
Om Shanti
Pam

Hi Yogis
Well based on both your feedback and also the fact that Covid restrictions remain in place until July, I’ve decided to continue with our monthly Saturday yoga sessions on Zoom for June.
The lovely Sandra Corlett will be our guest tutor and I will send out a separate post and email with further details on this.
Thank you so much for your views I really appreciate these and value your opinions.
Pam

Hi Lovely Yogis
Just an update on my current thinking about returning to face to face yoga at Stannington.
Because there has been a lot more to consider in terms of the next stage of the potential relaxing of Covid rules, i.e. 21st June milestone, this has once again posed some uncertainty in the run up to our next session with
Sandra Corlett on the 26th June.
If current restrictions remain in place, there will be a limit to the number of yogis allowed into Stannington Village Hall. I’m currently waiting for a confirmation of numbers after issuing a reminder. This may be around 15 people. If we go ahead, I will need to take bookings and payment ahead of the class.
I was optimistic about the possibility of being able to open the class up as usual on the 26th, based on restrictions being lifted. This may not now be the case.
So I would like to hear from you, via comments to this message, on how you feel about returning to face to face; in general, and also within the current restrictions and limitations.
Many thanks
Pam
🙏
