What a beautiful morning we had getting together for Tai Chi in the Park on World Tai Chi and Qigong Day!!
The perfect setting.. grass, trees, birdsong and the river flowing past nearby - all under a perfect blue sky.
Thank you so much to all who turned up - you all looked fantastic, flowing effortlessly through our forms… even if some movements may have been new to some of you. Well done😊

And thank you for your very kind donations - you raised £82 for Maggie’s Centre at Monklands!

🙏❤️

We’re steadily moving towards Spring (yes, really😊). In TCM, the element associated with Spring is Wood. This element signifies growth, renewal and rising energy.

This tree is a wonderful example of ability to renew and grow despite those things that tend to challenge our energy and its ability to rise. I took this photo a couple of years ago. The base of this little riverbank tree had been set on fire by mindless vandals and when I saw it soon after, it seemed that it had been destroyed.

The fire had burnt upwards, destroying the entire centre of the trunk and leaving only two charred columns - the remains of what truly seemed to be a dead tree.

I wish I had taken a ‘before’ photo, as this one was taken one year later. What a beautiful surprise - and what an illustration of inner strength and ability to grow and renew, despite the odds. 🌱
