🌟🌟Thank you to everyone, who attended tonight’s service.🌟🌟

It was a pleasure to see so many people, join us for an evening of remembrance and reflection.
My deep appreciation also goes to David Somerville Independent Celebrant, Rev Pope and Fr Krzysztof for their words of hope and reflection. Netta Lithgow’s organ playing was a beautiful accompaniment to our hymns.

Final thanks goes to the team at Alexander Whitelaw & Co Funeral Directors for supporting the event, with orders of service and refreshments.

🎄🌟Our winter memorial service is this Wednesday. 17th December 7pm until 9pm. All welcome 🌟🎄

As this year’s Grief Awareness Week comes to a close, we want to pause and reflect, not on grief itself, but on the small ways we can care for ourselves and each other.

Grief isn’t a straight path. It can surprise us in quiet moments, in laughter, in music, in a memory. Today, consider: ✨ Sharing a story – tell someone a memory of your loved one or listen to theirs. ✨ Doing something small for yourself – a cup of tea, a walk, a few deep breaths. ✨ Connecting with others – a call, a message, or a shared moment of understanding. Grief Awareness Week may end today, but the journey continues. And remember: even the smallest gestures of remembrance, of care, of kindness can make a difference. 💛

“How can I create a personal tribute for my loved one?” 💛 Creating a tribute is a beautiful way to celebrate the life and memories of someone you love. There are many ways to make it personal, meaningful, and unique to them: ✨ Memorial gardens – a peaceful, living space where family and friends can spend time in a beautiful setting. ✨ Keepsake memorials – from jewellery to memory bears, small items that carry a big meaning. ✨ Books of Remembrance – leave a lasting tribute with their name or a personal message. Most memorials can be personalised which allows you to honour not just a life, but the things that made that person unique - hobbies, passions, quirks, and special moments. Every tribute tells a story, and every story keeps their memory alive.

This week we've been shining a light on National Grief Awareness Week and now we’re shining that light on The Good Grief Trust - a truly remarkable charity making a difference for thousands of people across the UK. 🧡

From helping people connect with support services, to running Good Grief Cafés where anyone can attend, they’re present every step of the way. Their Good Grief Cards provide practical guidance and their work campaigns for better bereavement support to help change lives nationwide.

The Good Grief Trust shows that grief doesn’t have to be faced alone and that support can be accessible, welcoming, and compassionate. 💛

If you’ve been inspired by their work or found their support helpful, feel free to share below - it may help others too.

💛 Grief Awareness Week | 2–8 December 💛

Grief can touch anyone, at any time. It’s personal, unpredictable, and often misunderstood. During Grief Awareness Week, we take a moment to acknowledge the pain of loss, honour those we’ve lost, and remind ourselves (and each other) that it’s okay to grieve. Whether you’re grieving openly or quietly, you are not alone. This week is a reminder to reach out, listen, and offer support. Small acts of understanding can make a big difference. Let’s stand together in compassion and awareness. 💛
