Been a while since I shared anything I've made, it's been an eventful year and a bit getting married, becoming a dad, and moving house, so I have a sizable backlog of stuff I've made. I'll see if I can catch up over the next week or so.

Anyway, I had an idea when perusing Pinterest looking at tools to make. I saw an adze where the blade slots through the handle and is secured with a wooden wedge, an errand thought that it would be more easily secured if it had a thread, and that's when I realized I could quickly and easily make a hammer that way.

Behold, my small adjustable weight junk hammer. It's a short M16 (I think) nut and bolt in a bit of scrap pine from a pallet. If I wanted I can add nuts or washers to up the weight for some extra whack.

I have no idea what I intend to use it for, or if it will be any good for anything but I'll only find out when I make some use of it.

Something I made for my toast enjoying fiancée. We had a set of plain wooden ones, from Morrisons I think, but we have no idea where they've gone.

So I made these to stop her burning her fingers, or using a knife, to get toast out of the gizmo. Ash wood (I think), a strip of mild steel as a spring, and treated with boiled linseed oil.

Hello again, it's been a while. And to be honest, with all that's happened I forgot about this page.

Anyway, onto the reason for posting. I got a cheap and cheerful wood carving set, and after a recent visit to the doctor with my partner, I decided I needed to make her one of those door-opening button-presser gadgets.

So I rummaged through my wood stash, found a chunk of sycamore, and made one.

Been saving up my icecream sticks, earlier I started the process of turning them into mini weaving shuttles. Stacked them up, drilled through bother ends, then used a disc to cut the notch. Now I'm cleaning the slots up ready for them to be used at some point

Something I've been working on and off for a few weeks, a tabletwoven camera strap.

It has a small bit of recycled content with the adjustment things, they are ringpulls off some cans of cider I been drinking recently. I wove both the narrow black strap and the wide blue one. I could have bought some narrow strapping but I wanted to make as much as I could, so I did.

It's about 42 inches long and seems strong enough for my ageing Nikon, but I will check for any problems after I've used it for a while.

Got my gloves to the thumbs, I could have finished these ages ago, I just haven't been inclined. I wasn't sure I would have sufficient yarn and that I would have to modify the design to fingerless, but it seems that I do have, so that's great. Maybe I'll finished them this year, maybe not.

Wide leather belt made for a Jedi cosplay. It comprises a wide main belt with a few loops where a narrow belt feeds through, and the buckle is a fancy looking brass thing I found somewhere cleaned up and fixed. It also has a pair of battery pouches I made attached as well, pretty simple, they close with leather toggles. Not the prettiest, or the best done, or even half decent, but I like them.

Hey, a thing I made. Leather steanpunk blaster holster, vaguely modeled on Han Solo's from that film he was in. I did add a retaining strap after the pictures was took to help prevent it from falling out.

I forgot I had pictures of this. The finished article is about 6.5-7 feet long and I tried a few different finishing techniques for the end, warp as weft mainly, its a useful technique to finish some weaving.

Its not particularly noticeable, but I've tea dyed my rope. Saved up a pile of used teabags, presoaked the rope in a bowl, while I were doing that I filled and boiled the kettle, then after that, teabags in and boilie water on them releasing the tea. Left it about 15 minutes to marinate, then got it out and hung it up to dry. Few hours later and its done.

Heading up to denbigh castle on the train doing tablet weaving, and then some late night weavie by head torch light. I finished it about 10 minutes ago (00:55 Monday morning). I'll get a picture of the finished article when the sun comes up, if I remember
