✨ What a fantastic evening at the first of many Tuesday sessions of the Cavalier Carriage Driving Club! ✨

Considering the bad weather, it was incredible to see so many people turn out for a brilliant masterclass in carriage driving.

There were thoughtful questions from the audience, knowledge generously shared, cake and warm drinks enjoyed — but more than anything, there was community and a shared love of this exciting sport.

It was a wonderful reminder of what makes The Cavalier Centre so special — bringing people together through horses, learning and friendship. Providing support for the RDA.

If you’d like to get involved, come along to the Cavalier Centre on a Tuesday evening and join in the fun. We’d love to see you there!

Communities coming together.

Last Saturday was a brilliant reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to support a truly worthwhile cause.

At Croft and Oakes, we are passionate about supporting the local organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives. One of our Financial Planners, Verity Corbett, who is also a keen equestrian rider herself, has been proud to help drive support for a fantastic local RDA centre: The Cavalier Centre.

The Cavalier Centre does incredible work across our community, supporting:
🏇 vulnerable young people
🏇 school refusers and those who have been excluded or suspended
🏇 people with physical disabilities
🏇 individuals living with dementia
…and so many others who benefit from the unique support that equine-assisted activities can provide.

They also open their impressive indoor arena for hire and regularly host events to help fund their vital work.

This weekend they welcomed Olympic Show Jumper and all-round legend Geoff Billington for a demonstration evening, with over 160 people attending. It was a fantastic atmosphere and wonderful to see the Croft and Oakes jump being used on such a special night.

We’re proud to play a small part in supporting such an outstanding local charity and facility, and we look forward to continuing to help however we can.

At the Cavalier Centre, we are currently looking for a secure, dry, rodent-proof metal container to store bulk horse feed.

By purchasing feed in bulk, we can significantly reduce our running costs — allowing more funds to be directed towards our inclusive riding programmes supporting children and adults with disabilities, mental health challenges and social isolation.

However, until we have suitable storage in place, we are unable to take advantage of these savings.

We are therefore reaching out to local businesses to ask whether you may have a surplus metal storage container, secure feed bin, or shipping container that you no longer require and might consider donating.

In return, we would be very pleased to:
• Acknowledge your support publicly
• Feature your company on our website and social media
• Provide signage recognition on site (if appropriate)

If this is something you may be able to assist with, we would be extremely grateful to speak further.

Thank you for considering supporting The Cavalier Centre and the community we serve.

💥 Hero of the Week Alert! 💥

You always hear “Is there a doctor in the house?” but last night we really needed “Is there a sound engineer in the house?” 🎤🔊

A huge thank you to Ben, who jumped straight into action when our sound system had a wobble and lost signal. No panic, no fuss — and not even a Superman cape 🦸‍♂️ — just calm thinking and quick hands that saved the night.

Thanks to Ben, the event carried on smoothly (and yes, Geoff was still shouting loudly… but only for one horse 🐎😂).

Ben, you are officially our Hero of the Week ⭐
Thank you for soundly saving the event — we’re incredibly grateful 💙

👏👏👏 Can we all show Ben some love!
My excitement when the sound was restored !! (dreadful picture but the relief shows in my face, supper hero to my right)

Following Geoff Billington’s amazing demonstration this evening, I’m delighted to share that Geoff has kindly offered to come to the Cavalier Centre to coach.

Before confirming dates and costs, I’d like to gauge interest so I can build sessions that work best for everyone. Geoff has also said he would be happy to reduce his fee to support the RDA, which is incredibly generous.

If you’re interested, please reply ASAP
We had lots of interest on the night so hopefully we can get the master class booked.

• Would you prefer a private (single) lesson or a group lesson?
• What height are you currently jumping at?

Once I have an idea of numbers and preferences, I’ll go back to Geoff to confirm dates and costs.

I’m really looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Best wishes,
Hayley
