Nicco - Fitness & Nutrition Coach We help regular people achieve incredible things with their body.

Picture this: It's February, and Marc walks into NV2 Fitness the heaviest he's ever been.

He's carrying a few extra pounds, his confidence is in the dumps, and the idea of a "gym routine" sounds about as appealing as watching the Twighlight Saga.

Sound familiar?

But here's where things get interesting.

Marc's decided to take the plunge and sign up to our 90-day program.

So, we get to work.

And let me tell you, it wasn't all plain sailing.

There were days when Marc probably wanted to throw in the towel (or throw it at me, more likely).

But you know what?

He stuck with it.

Day after day, week after week, he showed up.

We're talking about strength sessions that challenged him, nutrition strategies that still let him involve pizza, and all the accountability needed to keep change happening week after week.

And guess what?

It. Worked.

Fast forward to May, and holy s**take mushrooms – Marc is like a whole new person!

He's dropped a whopping 11kg (that's over 24 pounds for you non-metric folks).

But here's the deal: it's not just about the weight.

Marc's walking taller, smiling more, and rocking a confidence that you can practically see from space.

He used to dread going to the gym.

Now, he has a rock-solid routine that he actually looks forward to.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "That's great for Marc, but what about me?"

Well, my friend, that's where it gets really exciting.

See, Marc's story isn't some one-in-a-million miracle.

Nope, it's the kind of transformation I see all the time when people decide to take that first step.

Working with us isn't just about losing weight (though it's a sweet perk).

It's about building not only strength physically, but mentally too.

We're talking about stripping away that stubborn body fat, sure.

But also about stripping away those "I can't do it" moments.

If you're sitting there and thinking, "Man, I want what Marc's got," then guess what? You can have it.

For real.

And hey, who knows?

Maybe in a few months, I'll be writing a post about your amazing transformation.

Ready to pull a Marc and become the best version of yourself?

Strap in for an announcement from Capt. Obvious and Lt Heindsight…

You need better sleep.

Yeah, I know - you already know this.

But, what are you doing to improve it?

If you’re running on caffeine, struggling with brain fog, grouchy and low on energy then it might be worth having a look at your sleep.

The good thing is, it can be easier than you think.

First up, look at your pre bedtime routine.

Are you:

- Sitting on your phone
- Exercising before hand
- Having large meals before bed
- Consuming caffeine late in the day

All this can contribute to poor sleep quality.

Poor sleep quality, even if sleep length is good, will mean you feel less rested the next day.

Instead:

- Limit screens 1 hour before bed
- Keep caffeine to a minimum past 2pm
- Have a snack instead of a large meal before bed
- Try to keep exercise a few hours before you plan bed

Now obviously, you guys with restless kids just have to do what you can there!

Ultimately, getting better sleep will lead to happier and easier days.

You'll will:

Feel happier
Be more resilient
Able to make better decisions
Ability to train harder in your sessions

We tie all this and more into our new 90 Day Upgrade Program designed to help humans:

- Eat to fuel their body properly and stay in shape year round
- Train to stay strong and fit and have complete physical freedom
- Manage sleep, stress and recovery to feel less grumpy and happier

Message us with the word ‘UPGRADE’ if you want more information from one of the team 💪🏻

F*!k ye tires.

You're driving along a road and get a flat tire.

Then, you instantly get out and stab the rest of the tires with your broadsword for good measure.

Oh, wait, no, you don't.

You replace the wheel and go on about your day.

Flip the scene.

You're cruising along with your food, and suddenly, you have to go off plan for a meal.

Then you instantly adopt a thought process of "Ah, I've ruined the day, might as well just eat s**t".

Compare it to our tire scenario.

Rather than go medieval on your body, just replace the next meal with a better one.

Then carry on.

I know it's not that easy...

And if you've had this mindset for a while, it will be hard to change it - I'll not lie.

But try and reflect when it happens (because it will).

Then reframe your thoughts.

"That meal wasn't as good as I had planned, I'll make the next one better".

or

"I've only got 20 minutes for a workout today, I'll just fit in what I can"

It's not the end of the road, just a detour.

9/10 people will do this.

Focus on what's gone wrong.

Rather than focus on what went right.

And reject giving themselves any praise.

If you don't manage to eat on plan for one meal or even one day - don't beat yourself up.

And please don't scrap the plan because “you’ve ruined it” - you haven't.

Praise yourself on the other 20 meals or 6 days in the week that you did the work.

Caveat: I’m not saying ignore the off plan meal or day, you should absolutely own it…

…but use it as a learning event and come up with a plan for when it (because it will) happens again.

Today X happened because of Y.

So when X happens again I will do Z instead.

People are far too quick to give themselves a hard time about the odd slip up - stop being a dick to yourself.

Does this sound familiar?

Try the praise tactic and future planning the next time it happens.

Everybody who's successful at something will be doing a string of basic actions over and over again.

- Its not one secret leg exercise
- Its not one fat burning superfood
- It’s not one health improving supplement

These aren’t the key to a successful physique, health and mindset.

It’s the regular day to day of doing the basics that counts.

5 months in.

Here are 5 lessons from the past 5 months of training for my first multi-day ultra event.

1. Being organised is crucial to consistency.

I lost most of my training sessions in a 2-week block from being unorganised.

After reorganising my day-to-day, I've managed every training session since.

2. Some days you'll hate it.

I've had the odd session where I've wanted to quit 5 minutes in.

On days like this, breaking the workout into chunks and telling yourself, "I'll just do another mile or another 5 minutes"

Before you know it, the session is over.

talks about the “Quit Tomorrow” strategy in his book Never Let Go - Google it.

3. Prepare to give up some stuff.

To fit some sessions in, I'll have to get up earlier than I'd like or go out later for the session.

I'm also going to lose hobbie and chill out time - it's just part of the parcel.

4. Habit stack.

Pairing up longer sessions with audiobooks, tv shows, or podcasts takes your mind off it, especially if it's a longer session that only requires a little thought.

5. Working around pain is possible.

I've been managing foot problems since the get-go. I've always had issues with my left foot and running at 110kg was never great when the legs were unconditioned for it.

Working with Mike I've managed to work conditioning around it.

Key takeaways:

* Be organised
* Some of it will suck
* Say goodbye to some stuff
* Habit stack
* Pain doesn't need to end your training

On to the next 5 months.

I've officially registered for the in Wales: 380km run, 17,400m ascension, 6 days.

The best part? I’m crap at running.

Pray for me.

Race fail anecdote…

I drank a full milk smoothie just before we started, failed the first two obstacles, had a 60 burpee penaltie and couldn't stop vomiting in my mouth for the first 30 minutes.

The second half of the course was made better by continuous cramp.

Fu**ed it.

I missed 10 out of 12 sessions in the past 2 weeks - here's what I learnt.

I got complacent.

I fell into the 'set and forget' trap for my diary.

About a month ago, my diary was scheduled, the workouts booked, and my work around it.

But then the status quo changed - as life does.

I was doing more shifts.

School holidays.

Events planning at NV2.

In short, it was a busier time.

Instead of sitting down to adjust my diary in hindsight, I let it run as usual and tried to wing it.

Obviously, this worked as well as hair gel does on me.

I missed sessions.

Rushed work.

Stressed that I felt like I had no time.

And flung my training out the window.

Let's be honest - I had time.

But I should have taken the time to plan it.

Rather than thinking what I was already doing will work.

Returning to training took a sit down, a word with myself and a little scheduling on Google Calendar.

Here is what I've done to help me work 6 sessions a week into my hectic life.

1) Create IF/THEN plans. Thanking .healthcoaching , for the insight into

This means that IF something comes up and I can't train at my regular afternoon time, I will either use this as my rest day or book it for later in the day or early in the morning.

Failing that, I will prioritise the essential sessions for the week.

2) Block Schedule EVERYTHING.

My diary has:

-My shifts
-Ashleigh's shifts
-The work I have to do (and when I plan to do it with an overestimation of how long it will take)
-My workouts

All are scheduled for the next 2 weeks.

I will review this every 2 weeks.

Previously, I built the schedule months ago and just left it.

3) Accept Sacrifice.

Here's the deal.

I've got various things I like doing.

Most of them I enjoy more than training.

So now I've just got to accept that to fit more training in, I get to do less of this.

I want to finish the Dragons Back Race, so I'm willing to give up some of those past times to make the race cutoffs.

Struggling to keep a workout routine?

DM me the word 'TIME' if you want help from someone who understands the struggle.

3 mistakes I made with my training when I was younger that I don't want you to make.

Not Enough Sleep: Get enough good quality sleep and you'll transform your daily energy.

You'll be able to make better decisions, have more energy, feel better and recover faster from workouts.

Buying Supplements: I wasted so much money on supplements when I was younger.

Listening to ‘gurus’ on podcasts talk about their latest product to enhance this or bulletproof that.

The majority of it garbage, the rest unnecessary.

Don't be fooled by the marketing hype.

Save your money and focus on good nutrition, training and sleep and you'll get a much bigger reward.

Doing Bodybuilding Splits: Spending hours in the gym on a ‘back and biceps’ day, or ‘chest’ day.

Unless your bodybuilding or a very advanced lifter it's totally overkill.

Think of it as the difference between getting a sun tan compared to a sun burn.

Full body workouts 2-3 x per week tend to work best for most people.

Anything else you'd add?

Whenever you're ready you can work with me 1-1 online by filling out the form on the link in my bio.

Skip the common mistakes of doing it yourself with a coach in your corner.
