👉 Four years on from unprecedented infringements on civil liberties & relentless state propaganda where epistemic trust was forced upon a population through a climate of fear. 👉 Discerning truth from untruth however arises when anxieties are low, internal (unconscious) conflicts are understood, feelings put to one side and where those subjects who may offer material are situated within a contextually and emotionally benign position, such that truth can be safely obtained from a position of “not knowing.”

👉🏻 Within the pages of David M Black’s book, ‘Why Things Matter’, sits the notion that those working with traumatic or even subtly ruptured experiences, perhaps of childhood, know how bitterness can become a life long torture.

In this regard the contention that humans are simply the sum of genetics or neuroscience falls flat, in that these constructs fail to “take into account the peculiar predicament of a creature that carries detailed memories of the past, and thus anticipation of the future” including it’s own passing and that of others.
