Beautiful Nairn Nights

Beautiful Nairn Nights It's now a Arts Studio Collective owned by Wasps Artists' Studios. The wonderful David Celia kicked us off on the 27th Oct.

Rob Ellen (Medicine Music) has been involved in Music Development in The Highlands for 30 years, though from Nairn hes been on the road for 8 years now reporting on independent music here and on iMTV. Introducing "Beautiful Nights Nairn" New venue is the old Fisher Town Links School run by the Kirk right up until the 60's so all the fisher kids got an education. tickets were £8 with a glass of wine/beer with local Support Brandon Midlane a local support and time to view the art , 20 Kickets SOLD OUT. The idea being we will also stage bigger shows in The Little Theatre, Nairn, next door and folks who take a chance on these (world class) but lesser known artists, will get priority for tickets for the bigger shows. Let's try build a community of folks that want and understand "Beautiful Nights" in Nairn. Thanks to Shaun MacDonald for setting this up for us.

What a day, what an array of talent, what a spectacle, what an audience!

I'm still buzzing.

I've got so much content to share - this will build into a forever record of what I predict is another game changer for cultural life in the Highlands.

In this episode I get serenaded by Gospel Collective 'The Future Shape of Sound' and talk to Southern Avenue with live footage of both acts.

I've had the great good fortune of being part of the first time of a few events, in my beloved Highlands, Belladrum Festival, The Ullapool Guitar Festival the wildly ambitious but sadly unsustainable Highland Festival among them, and the raw excitement of those birth times just can't be replicated - what a privilege to be given such access to the Inaugural Inverness International Blues Festival, I'm here to report everyone from the security staff, to the last audience member felt it's excitement and the protostar energy radiated through the entire day.
I so wish I had access to this level phone phone-toting informal tech back at ground zero for Belladrum, I remember the back stage mix and front of house performance levels reaching exactly these energised heights in the white heat of thon nuclear event fusion, I never thought it to be quiet so repeated, but it was yesterday. I hope this show captures some of the big bang.

I will endeavour to relay a taste of this magic all this week on iMtv and at some point edit it down into a low tech but high energy documentary of a great time for all who were there and what I hope will be an other seminal Highland music moment.

Congratulations to Kevin Hellier (co-ordinator) and Provost Glynis Campbell Sinclair and their team for producing a world class event at the very first time of asking, the timing of which as we emerge from our traditional Highland hibernation and in the month that sees Inverness being considered for UK City of Culture, could not seam more auspicious for what is already becoming "Scotlands City of Music" I'm so very proud of the Highland Capital today. I have not seen this kind of international focus on The Highlands since the sadly lamented demise of The Highlands Festival in the late 90s.

It's been the best of times it's been the worst of times it could scary have been both. It is the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.

One minute we're broadcasting joy to the world; the next, I'm staring at a jack and a toolkit on the side of the road. This is the paradox of the Moose.
We have the collective vision, the songs, and 'the spirit'—we just need the wheels to match.
I don't have the resources to retrieve this one. So it's off the road and going up for sale as a project, and we’re raising funds to "Rehoose the Moose" and get this mobile studio back where it belongs: out of the mud and into the music. Every bit helps us bridge the gap between where we are and where we’re meant to be.

Thanks already for the contributions.
