🌼✨ A Beautiful Spring Service at St Olaf ✨🌼

Our residents were delighted to welcome Rev. Linda Walker and the choir from Nairnshire Parish Church for a lovely church service celebrating the coming of spring 🌷💛
The service focused on themes of love, hope, joy and peace, and reminded us all of the comfort and care that faith can bring. It was a gentle, uplifting afternoon filled with warmth and reflection ✨🙏

Residents enjoyed singing much‑loved hymns including:
🎶 All Things Bright and Beautiful
🎶 Jesus Loves Me
🎶 For the Beauty of the Earth

All beautifully accompanied on the keyboard by Frances, adding to the peaceful and joyful atmosphere 🎹💕

We are so grateful to Rev. Walker, Frances and the choir for their time, kindness and dedication — and we’re already looking forward to the next service 🌸

We’ve got an exciting week ahead at St Olaf Care Home, filled with variety, creativity and plenty of smiles 💛✨

Here’s what our residents can look forward to:
🎤 Intergenerational Choir
Always a favourite! A beautiful blend of voices from different age groups, bringing joy, community spirit and wonderful harmonies to the home.

🎨 Arts & Crafts Session
A chance to get creative with a wide range of materials — perfect for exploring new techniques and expressing imagination.

🐶 Therapy Dog Visit
A friendly therapy dog will be joining us, offering comfort, companionship and lots of tail‑wagging happiness.

🎲 Group Games Session
Laughter guaranteed! Fun games designed to boost engagement, movement and camaraderie.

🩰 Scottish Ballet Movement Workshop
Introducing gentle ballet‑inspired movement — graceful, calming and great for wellbeing.

🎤 DanceSing Sessions
A dynamic mix of singing and dancing that always leaves the room full of energy and smiles.

🔤 Scrabble Club
For those who love a good challenge — friendly competition and brain‑boosting fun.

🥞💛 Shrove Tuesday at St Olaf! 💛🥞

Shrove Tuesday was a lovely success here at St Olaf Care Home!
Our residents enjoyed decorating delicious pancakes with all their favourite toppings — from jam and Nutella to honey and fresh berries 🍓🍯🍫✨

The creativity on display was fantastic, and the smiles said it all! Everyone had a wonderful time making (and tasting!) their colourful creations 💕

A big thank you to our talented chef Jamie for preparing both crêpes and pancakes to make our Pancake Day celebration extra special 🥞👨‍🍳💛

🌸✈️ Armchair Travel to Japan at St Olaf! ✈️🌸

As part of our Lifelong Learning sessions, our residents enjoyed a wonderfully engaging Armchair Travel experience — this time journeying all the way to Japan! 🇯🇵✨

We were delighted to welcome Kim, a family member of one of our residents, who kindly shared her amazing travels with us. Kim showed us beautiful photos from her trip and spoke about Japanese culture, history, food and traditions, making the session both fascinating and fun 🌿🗾

Our residents especially enjoyed seeing traditional Japanese socks called “tabi”, and had great fun trying out chopsticks — lots of laughter all around! 🥢

We truly value the support of our families and love welcoming them into everything we do.
These shared moments bring so much joy, learning and connection to our home 💛🌸

💃🎤 Enjoying DanceSing, always a favourite for boosting energy and smiles

❤️🌸 Valentine’s Day at St Olaf 🌸❤️

Our residents enjoyed a truly heart‑warming Valentine’s Day filled with creativity, conversation and community spirit 💕✨

Everyone got involved in thoughtful art sessions, followed by friendly chats over a lovely cuppa ☕💬. Residents shared what they enjoy doing, who means the most to them, and the special people they hold close to their hearts. It was a beautiful reminder of the strong bonds and friendships within our home.

We were delighted to hear how happy our residents feel with the activities, delicious meals and care they receive — and that each day is filled with meaningful moments, laughter and connection 💛

A big thank you to David Godden for providing fantastic entertainment and helping us celebrate Valentine’s Day in such a joyful and memorable way 🎶🌹

💛⛪ A Meaningful Church Service at St Olaf Care Home ⛪💛

We were delighted and truly grateful to welcome Rev Steven Manders into St Olaf Care Home to hold a church service for our residents. For many, these moments are deeply important and filled with lifelong memories of attending church with their families.
Rev Manders shared a thoughtful message about “overcoming life’s storms” and facing the challenges that come our way — a theme that brought comfort, reflection and connection to everyone present

Our residents appreciated the gentle atmosphere, the familiar hymns and the opportunity to come together in a meaningful way.

We are already looking forward to his next visit 💛

🍕🎉 Celebrating National Pizza Day at St Olaf! 🎉🍕

St Olaf was filled with creativity, fun and delicious aromas as we celebrated National Pizza Day in the tastiest way possible — by making our very own pizzas! 👩‍🍳🧀

Our residents had a brilliant time choosing their favourite shapes, preparing the dough, adding their toppings and, of course, enjoying the final result. One resident summed it up perfectly: “Absolutely delicious!”

A huge thank you to our fantastic chef, Jamie, for preparing pizzas for everyone to enjoy and helping make the day extra special 🍽️💛

Moments like these bring joy, laughter and new memories to our community — and we loved every bite! 🍕✨

🎉🍕 A Fun‑Filled Week Ahead at St Olaf Care Home! 🍕🎉

We’ve got a wonderfully busy week planned at St Olaf, with plenty of activities to keep spirits high and smiles shining ✨

To kick things off, we’ll be celebrating National Pizza Day with some delicious creations straight from our kitchen 🍕

We’re also looking forward to live music from Dave Godden as we celebrate Valentine’s Day together — a lovely chance for residents to enjoy familiar tunes and a warm, joyful atmosphere ❤️🎶

Alongside this, our week includes:
💪 Gentle exercise classes
🕺 DanceSing sessions
🐶 A visit from our friendly therapy dog
😂 And of course… lots of laughter!

🕊️🌿 St Olaf Takes Part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch! 🌿🕊️

Our residents had a wonderful time taking part in the annual RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this week. From our beautiful conservatory, everyone enjoyed watching, identifying and counting the birds that visited our garden 🐦✨

There were lots of lovely conversations as residents reminisced about days spent in the garden, family walks, wildlife spotting and enjoying the great outdoors with loved ones 💛🌳

Throughout the winter, our residents also put out seeds to support the birds during the colder months ❄️🌾 – a small act of kindness that makes a big difference.

A special thank you goes to a thoughtful member of one of our families who provided a little extra entertainment outside when the birds were feeling shy… it gave everyone a good smile! 💚

In 2025, over 590,000 people took part in the Birdwatch, counting an incredible 9.1 million birds – with the house sparrow taking the top spot as the most commonly seen visitor 🏆🐤

👶💛 Intergenerational Fun at St Olaf Care Home! 💛👶

Every Wednesday from 10.30am to 12 noon, we welcome little ones into our home for our Intergenerational Baby and Toddler Group — and it’s always such a joyful part of the week! 🎉

These interactive sessions are full of smiles, play and shared moments that our residents and visiting families absolutely love. Watching different generations connect is truly heart‑warming 💕✨
