🎹World Music Day at St Olaf! 🎶💫

We celebrated World Music Day in style - with tunes, memories, and plenty of rhythm!

Our residents had a wonderful time playing melodies on the keyboard. For some, it was a joyful return to a familiar skill, while for others, it was all about enjoying the experience for the very first time. 💙🎼

There were lovely moments of reminiscing too - stories of piano teachers from years gone by, and even remembering their names!

We also explored music from around the world and joined in with percussion instruments - a truly global celebration of sound and connection. 🌍

We’re inviting everyone to join us this week at St Olaf Care Home as we begin our commemorative art sessions in honour of Remembrance Day. These thoughtful activities offer a chance to reflect, create, and share stories together. ❤️🌺
We’re also marking World Mental Health Day on 10th October with meaningful activities focused on wellbeing, connection, and support.

Sunny Adventures at St Olaf 🚲🌼

Our residents made the most of the warm, sunny weather by heading outdoors for a day full of joy and fresh air!

From peaceful garden moments to exciting excursions and even a tricycle ride to the beach, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🏖️🚲

It’s always wonderful to see our community embracing nature, staying active, and creating beautiful memories together. A big thank you to our amazing colleagues who helped make the day so special!

Today’s Active Minds “Trains” sensory aromatherapy session was truly special at St Olaf Care Home. The aromas linked to train travel sparked wonderful conversations and heartfelt memories among our residents — from childhood adventures to scenic journeys across the country 🛤️✨

Our residents absolutely love flower arranging, and we’re so grateful to Joanne, the Sainsbury’s Community Champion, for once again donating beautiful blooms to our home. The colours and scents bring so much joy and brighten up our setting — thank you, Joanne, for your kindness and support!

Our residents truly appreciate the chance to get creative and enjoy the beauty of fresh flowers together. 🌷😊

Our residents are loving the regular Chair Yoga sessions with Jane and the lively Dance-Sing Move & Groove activities here at St Olaf Care Home!

With the warm weather blessing us lately, we’ve even taken some of our exercise classes out into the garden — making the experience even more enjoyable surrounded by nature

🎨📚 Celebrating Creativity at St Olaf Care Home! 📚🎨

Our talented residents — along with their wonderful relatives — proudly took part in the Nairn Book & Arts Festival for the second year running!

Some of our residents even made the trip to the Nairn Community and Arts Centre to see their very own poems and artwork on display 🖼️. It was a fantastic day out, filled with smiles, pride, and a real sense of achievement.

We were absolutely delighted to hear that visitors enjoyed our display — such a proud moment for everyone involved!

A huge thank you to our colleagues who supported this creative journey and helped bring our residents’ voices and visions to the wider community.
