An Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP) is a strategic, three-year plan that outlines how an NHS organisation will meet the needs of the population it serves. It brings together all aspects of planning including workforce, finance, quality, service development and performance into one cohesive document.

It's a roadmap that guides how we will deliver our goals and contribute to the wider priorities of NHS Wales and Welsh Government.

Strategic priority one in our IMTP this year focuses on delivering national workforce solutions to improve quality, boost productivity and tackle long-standing challenges that affect the day-to-day delivery of care.

By working closely with NHS organisations, national programmes and clinical networks, we’re taking real steps to improve access to healthcare and achieve better outcomes for patients across Wales.

👊We’re proud to celebrate Kate Bickerstaff, Memory Service Manager for Conwy & Denbighshire, who has won the Leadership Award, sponsored by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW), at this year’s Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Achievement Awards. 🌟

In less than two years, Kate has transformed memory services - reducing patient waiting times from 12 months to just 8 weeks, introducing innovative systems, and fostering a culture of compassion and collaboration.

Her colleagues describe her as a “transformational leader” who listens, supports, and empowers both staff and patients. 👏

This award is a powerful reminder of the impact of compassionate leadership in healthcare - improving wellbeing, building stronger teams, and delivering better outcomes for patients.
