At Clarendon Court we value our staff and want to show our appreciation for what they do everyday. Each month we celebrate a different department within our home and February was the turn of the lifestyle team.

Residents, relatives and colleagues were invited leave messages on our appreciation tree. The messages left were lovely and echoes the thoughts of the Home Manager and Deputy Manger who were excited to present the lifestyle ladies with a treat hamper.

The Mayor came in to visit the home to officially cut the ribbon to open up our More...Sensory/Wellbeing Room. He described the room as a beautiful, calming space that he thinks residents, staff and family will love.

We are very grateful that he came into the home to open this space up properly with one of our lovely residents! The mayor enjoyed walking around Clarendon Court afterwards, meeting our staff and residents!

The lovely people living with us really enjoyed our recent trip to Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse. We went for the afternoon and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

The museum had artwork, artefacts, facts and videos teaching us about the history of the building. The residents all said that they really enjoyed their afternoon. We love taking the residents out, and we're looking forward to doing it more often now that the weather is brightening up!

We have some images of our new More...Sensory/therapy room that we opened on Wednesday afternoon. This is a multipurpose space available for residents, staff and families. This room will be used to have meaningful ones to ones with residents in a quiet space, offering things such as massages, pampering and More...Relaxation. We have also advertised around the home to the families of the residents that this can be used as a function room to celebrate special occasions with our residents, such as birthdays.

For staff, this is a quiet space that can be used if someone is feeling stressed, needs some quiet time or would like a private meeting with our manager or deputy manager. The room is also available as a prayer room as we have many different religions that are followed in our home, we think it is important to have this space available for anyone that may want to use it to practice their faith.

We think it is a really beautiful space that will benefit so many people and we're looking forward to using it.

We’ve had such a magical December filled with festive cheer!

One of our many beautifully decorated Christmas trees bringing festive sparkle to the home.

Gorgeous flowers that accompanied some of our residents’ Christmas gifts.

A peek at the thoughtful presents we gave each resident – there were plenty of smiles (and happy tears!) on Christmas Day.

Our wonderful Clarendon Carols evening, complete with mulled wine, hot chocolate, and joyful singing.

A special visit from Santa himself, spreading Christmas cheer and handing out cards!

The adorable Shetland ponies who melted hearts during their visit – such a treat for everyone!

A beautiful handmade Christmas card created during one of our craft sessions, made with love for a daughter.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Christmas so special for our residents. 💖

We had a great trip out recently...

We took some of the people living with us to the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery for the afternoon. We all really enjoyed looking at the artefacts, the artwork and the ceramics! They all particularly liked looking at this spitfire and learning about the history of it.
