Needling specific body parts is thought to stimulate sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles of the body. This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins and serotonin. Modern research shows that acupuncture can affect most of the body’s systems including the nervous system, muscle tone, hormone outputs, circulation, antibody production and allergic responses, as well as the respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. I am a qualified nurse with 25 years of varied nursing experience behind me. More recently I have qualified in Facial enhancement acupuncture, dermaplaning and microneedling. Both of these are considered non invasive aesthetic procedures. These procedures rely on the body's natural ability to produce collagen and elastin which in turn help with issues such as wrinkles, scarring, skin texture and pigmentation.
