We love this quote because we see it in action in Music Therapy. With their Music Therapist, clients can create their own unique musical language in which to explore and connect with the world and express themselves. Because musical participation and response does not depend solely on the ability to speak, Music Therapy is a particularly effective clinical intervention for people who have difficulty communicating verbally.

Call out for Music Therapists! 🎶 Help shape LIFT - The Gesture-Based Music App.

The BAMT Community is invited to help test LIFT, a new gesture-controlled app for intuitive, expressive music-making. LIFT transforms movement into sound, through simple gesture control you can shape and conduct music in real time.

The app calibrates to each user’s unique range of motion, letting you control elements like timbre, texture, and dynamics.

It’s a powerful creative tool, but easy to use. LIFT sparks everything from quiet, focused solo sessions to high-energy group jams.

LIFT is already being trialled in SEND schools, brain injury groups and community centres. Now we’d love your feedback; your insight as Music Therapists.

If you would like to help us pilot this app, please contact Kate Billinge at Kate.Billinge@headsoup.info
