🌞 The urge to fix ourselves (and sometimes other people) often comes from discomfort.

We want the feeling gone as quickly as possible...

"Just be positive"
"Well, it could be worse"
"I'm trying not to dwell on it"

But sometimes the feeling isn’t something to get rid of - it’s something to listen to.

That's what therapy is.

We don't brush things under the carpet. I sit with you in your feelings, even when it's painful.

You don't have to feel alone 🌱

Welcome to Rise Therapy Centre

We’re Laura and Sophie, two sisters and qualified counsellors with over 20 years of combined experience. Together, we created Rise Therapy Centre with a vision to build a supportive community of therapists, wellness coaches, and like-minded professionals.

We know that being self-employed can sometimes feel isolating, which is why we’ve made Rise not just a therapy space, but a place for connection and collaboration.

At Rise, we offer:

* Comfortable rooms for 1:1 therapy sessions
* Space for workshops, group sessions, training, and tutoring
* Opportunities for networking and peer support
* Monthly peer supervision sessions
* On-site parking, plus free tea & coffee facilities

Our aim is to create a welcoming, professional environment where you can grow your practice and feel part of a community.

Being self-employed doesn’t have to feel lonely – come and be part of something bigger

🌞 “I know why I do these things … I just can’t seem to stop.”

I hear this a lot from clients.

Insight is important - but knowing the reason isn’t the same as feeling differently.

Healing happens when we go beyond the explanation and actually stay with the emotion, the fear, the discomfort. That’s the part that changes things.

This is often why just a few sessions won't change much. You might gain self-awareness which is good, but it's not the same as lasting change.

The relationship is the therapy, not the insight alone.

Feeling understood without judgement.
Being remembered.
Being met. 🌱

Clients do the work ✨ ...

My role isn't to fix you or direct - it's to facilitate, notice, reflect and support the process ✍🏼

Change happens because you engage with it.

I simply walk beside you while it unfolds 🪾

🌿 Therapy with me is far more than just “offloading once a week.”

The relationship matters. We build rapport, I track what you say over time, I remember your stories, your patterns, your people.

Change happens through connection - not just conversation, not "advice". That's why the research always points towards the therapeutic relationship being the most important factor for change and growth to occur 🤍

🥶 January can feel gloomy for some...and like a relief for others.

☕ Less pressure, less noise, more permission to just be.

☝🏼 The pressure of a new year doesn't mean you have to become a "new you"...you can just try to become MORE you.

Do the things you enjoy more, put aside some time for yourself 🙂

Importantly, if things are really tough and you're just getting through day by day, then that is enough and you are enough! ✨

❄️ None of us are perfect. Not me, not you - not anyone!

Sometimes people think I must 'have it all together' because "you're a therapist!"...and whilst that might seem true in the room with clients most of the time - I still walk into a room sometimes and forget what I'm in there for, say the wrong thing or overthink.

Perfection is never the goal. Being human is messy, beautiful, contradictory and full of second chances.

You're allowed to be imperfect.

I am too! 🕊️
