Are you looking to register with an NHS dentist?

The Dental Access Portal allows you to apply online for routine NHS dental treatment.

You will then be contacted by the health board once a suitable space at a dental practice becomes available.

You can register your interest if:
• You do not currently have a routine NHS dentist
• You live at an address in Swansea Bay for more than six months of the year or are registered with a GP in Swansea Bay.

You can apply for a place with an NHS dentist as an individual or on behalf of others, such as a child, family member or as a paid or unpaid carer.

The Dental Access Portal is not for patients requiring urgent care, please call 111 for advice and help in finding an urgent dental appointment if needed.

We’d like to let our community know that, due to a high volume of enquiries, we are currently unable to register new NHS patients directly at the practice.

If you do not currently have an NHS dentist and live within the Swansea Bay area, please register via the Swansea Bay Dental Access Portal to be considered for NHS dental care.

‼️ Important Update April 1st 2026 ‼️

When attending appointments at the practice please make sure you have your NHS number to hand.

Methods to Find Your NHS Number in Wales:

⭐️NHS Documents: Look at any letter or document sent to you by the NHS (e.g., test results, referrals, or prescriptions).

⭐️GP Surgery: Call or visit your GP practice to ask them to look it up. You may need to provide proof of identity, such as a passport or driver's license.

⭐️Online Service: Use the NHS website’s Find Your NHS number tool, which texts or emails your number to you.

⭐️NHS Wales App: The NHS Wales App allows you to view your health information once logged in.

⭐️Child's Red Book: For children, the NHS number is found in the Red Immunisation book.

If you are not registered with a GP or need further help, you can look for a GP practice through the NHS 111 Wales website.

From April 1st, NHS dental charges are changing — it’s no longer the simple band system. Instead, you’ll pay based on your treatment, with a maximum cap in place.

What does that mean?
👉 Some treatments may cost more
👉 But there’s a clear limit on what you’ll pay
👉 Many people still qualify for free care

Important Practice Update

We would like to sincerely apologise for any confusion or inconvenience caused recently. We have converted to a new dental computer system and, unfortunately, this has resulted in some errors with our recall reminders.

As part of this, mass recalls were sent to some patients stating that you are due for your routine examination when you are not. If you have booked an appointment via our online booking link as a result of this message, these appointments will be cancelled in due course and we will contact you to arrange a new appointment when you are actually due.

Last week alone, we received 2,139 phone calls. This extremely high volume meant that some patients in pain or with dental emergencies struggled to get through, and for that we are truly sorry.

To help us manage this safely and fairly, please only call between 8.30am and 10.00am if:

You have a dental emergency, or

You need to cancel an appointment at short notice for that same day

Our reception team is continuing to work incredibly hard to answer calls, manage appointments, and check in patients across our very busy 8-surgery practice.

We also operate a zero tolerance policy toward abuse, and we kindly ask for patience and respect while our team works through this situation.

Thank you for your understanding and support while we resolve these issues.
