Due to Covid-19, I now offer online Psychotherapy or Art Psychotherapy sessions via zoom. All sessions are completely confidential and I am fully trained to respond to your anxieties and emotional needs as I am HCPC registered with an MA in Art Psychotherapy. My aim is to help you regain your self-esteem, confidence, trust and independence. I will never impose judgement and I am committed to helpi
ng you to explore, regain or discover your identity and place in the world, through self-reflection, artmaking or conversation. I am fully trained to help you use the creative process as an opportunity to grow or make changes. As a psychotherapist and art psychotherapist, I am psychodynamically trained and combine the theories and methods of this practice with mindfulness and person-centred approaches. The use of artmaking as a platform for discussion and exploration compliments and deepens the experience to more personal to you and your story. You do not have to be skilled at art to benefit, just open to the idea of creative expression. However, I offer session which do not involve any artmaking for those who prefer. Using psychodynamic theories, my aim is to help you unravel, experience and understand your true feelings in order to be at peace with them. Often, our unconscious can hold onto painful experiences causing us to develop various defences which can inhibit future relationships. For this reason, psychodynamic psychotherapy/art psychotherapy can work particularly well with people who have lost meaning to their lives, who are unsure of their identity or have difficulty forming or maintaining healthy relationships. Being open to self-reflection, self-exploration and having a natural curiosity for your internal world can enable you to move forward in a healthier and happier direction. Accompanying the use of art materials, I use conversation, listening techniques and sometimes mindfulness to help you to explore your unconscious and your deep rooted feelings. I listen empathically and never project judgement, enabling you to explore with me what you need from the sessions, from life and for moving forward. Using person-centred approaches, I place you at the core, listening to and learning from your story in order to help you to regain, explore or even discover your true identity and your place in the world with greater confidence and with healthier and happier relationships. I look forward to meeting you. Warm wishes,
Vicky
