Art Therapy For You

Art Therapy For You Online Psychotherapy or Art Psychotherapy sessions aswell as 1:1 face to face sessions. I look forward to meeting you. Warm wishes,

Vicky

Due to Covid-19, I now offer online Psychotherapy or Art Psychotherapy sessions via zoom. I am also now offering face to face sessions again for those who would prefer. All sessions are completely confidential and I am fully trained to respond to your anxieties and emotional needs as I am HCPC registered with an MA in Art Psychotherapy. My aim is to help you regain your self-esteem, confidence, tr

ust and independence. I will never impose judgement and I am committed to helping you to explore, regain or discover your identity and place in the world, through self-reflection, artmaking or conversation. I am fully trained to help you use the creative process as an opportunity to grow or make changes. As a psychotherapist and art psychotherapist, I am psychodynamically trained and combine the theories and methods of this practice with mindfulness and person-centred approaches. The use of artmaking as a platform for discussion and exploration compliments and deepens the experience to more personal to you and your story. You do not have to be skilled at art to benefit, just open to the idea of creative expression. However, I offer session which do not involve any artmaking for those who prefer. Using psychodynamic theories, my aim is to help you unravel, experience and understand your true feelings in order to be at peace with them. Often, our unconscious can hold onto painful experiences causing us to develop various defences which can inhibit future relationships. For this reason, psychodynamic psychotherapy/art psychotherapy can work particularly well with people who have lost meaning to their lives, who are unsure of their identity or have difficulty forming or maintaining healthy relationships. Being open to self-reflection, self-exploration and having a natural curiosity for your internal world can enable you to move forward in a healthier and happier direction. Accompanying the use of art materials, I use conversation, listening techniques and sometimes mindfulness to help you to explore your unconscious and your deep rooted feelings. I listen empathically and never project judgement, enabling you to explore with me what you need from the sessions, from life and for moving forward. Using person-centred approaches, I place you at the core, listening to and learning from your story in order to help you to regain, explore or even discover your true identity and your place in the world with greater confidence and with healthier and happier relationships.

Magnolia was the light that was born out of a dark time and a desire to create somewhere special for everyone to give a little love and support to themselves, during whatever life throws.

We’re a safe space, where you’ll always be greeted with warmth and care.

Every one of the incredible therapists who we are lucky to have work with us, went into their field for a reason. They found what worked for them, along side a passion for helping others.

Everyone is different, and when it comes to mental health, the ways you can support yourself can be different too. Whether it be art therapy, homeopathy, acupuncture, EMDR, hypnotherapy, holistic therapy, exercise, mindfulness, spending time in nature or connecting with others. There are so many things you can do.

Find what works for you, and prioritize it. Prioritize you. Because you and your mind are so incredibly important. Today, and every day ❤️

LIFE IS SHORT, SO ENJOY IT!
The day barely starts, and suddenly it’s evening. Monday turns into Friday, and before we know it, the year is almost over. Time flies, and we lose loved ones—parents, friends—until we realise it’s too late to turn back.

So, let’s make the most of the time we have left. Find joy in the things we love, add colour to our grey days, and appreciate the small moments that fill our hearts with love.

Let’s stop putting things off. Waiting for “later” means missing the best moments—family time, friendships, experiences. "Later" isn't guaranteed.

Life moves fast: priorities shift, health fades, kids grow, parents age, promises are forgotten. One day, it’s too late to do what we should have done or said.

The time is now. The day is today. Life is a short trip—so live it fully while you can, because there’s no turning back.

Just the best reading this from a new client who was diagnosed with depression and social anxiety. He also went onto say he managed to walk around Tesco after our first session and felt relaxed 🙏

Sometimes being heard and feeling validated can go a long way to feeling accepted and worthy as your true self ❤️

Well that's a lovely thought isn't it 🥰

Very touched to receive this today 🥹 This lovely lady came weekly for several months but has been feeling so much stronger and more at peace with herself and her past that she now comes every few weeks. It has been such an honour to witness her growing love for herself 🙏❤️

Self-abandonment looks like:
●Overfunctioning
●Mistrusting your
instincts
●Keeping quiet to
keep the peace
●Minimizing your
feelings
●Proving your worth
●Unclear about your
wants & needs
●Poor boundaries
●Pouring yourself into
someone without reciprocity
●Meeting others' needs over yours.
Gently notice the cost of
self-neglect so that you no longer leave yourself
behind 🙏
