8 Years of being an Osteopath (enjoy the carousel of images I could find)
At the point of re-registering this year I took the opportunity to reflect on the journey so far.
In 8 years I have now seen 1000โs of patients, mostly in South Wales (other than a year in Kent with ) in a variety of clinics from Pontypridd, to Cardiff, and now settled in Neath and Felinfoel.
The awesome thing about being an osteopath is the ability to learn from patients, seeing how each individual deals with pain differently and how they overcome this.
The outlook on my role as an osteopath has developed and as well as the responsibility in assessing, diagnosing, and treating aches and pains. Iโve found my communication and support tools Iโve learnt over the years have aided patients in further understanding their pain, supported them with choices in creating healthier lives, supported them through difficult life experiences, and rekindled joy with movement for patients.
It always was more than just the bones and joints, but I understand that more now than ever.
Pain doesnโt only restrict us physically, but socially and emotionally. Itโs another plate that needs spinning whilst we continue to rush around with life. The treatment room continues to offer people a moment to slow down, reflect, breathe, gain a sense of direction, and move forward.
Hereโs to helping 1000โs more of you over the coming years.
If osteopathy has helped you Iโd love to hear your experience in the comments below ๐๐ผ
