We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has supported our colleague Catherine and her young family, so far. You’ve raise over £1,800 towards helping them rebuild their family home in the New Year. We would also like to say that words cannot express the gratitude we all have for Kim; the lady that was kind enough to let Catherine, her two young children and partner stay in her Airbnb for Christmas and the New Year, while they set about rebuilding a home! You may have seen the devastation Catherine and her family faced just a week before Christmas on WalesOnline or ITV Wales - Any support anyone can give will still be truly appreciated. We know Catherine and family are still overwhelmed by the support their community has given them and will always be grateful

Absolutely devastating for our dear Catherine and her family! Here you can see Catherine, who was ready to leave for work this morning (as you can see in her uniform), only to walk down stairs to a flooded home 😭😢 Such a sad and difficult time, so close to Christmas for this family and the community.

It’s heartbreaking to see the streets flooded and the impact this has had on the community. It’s hit one of our care colleagues, especially hard this close to Christmas, with a young family. Here you can see their street and home on WalesOnline - a hard working, working class family. Our care colleague’s daughter and husband are picture below; dealing with the aftermath of waking up to this devastation. You may have also seen their street shown on ITV News this evening. Our amazing team have decided not to do Secret Santa this year and wish to donate their contributions to her and her family. We have also set up a GoFundMe page, if anyone is able to contribute any amount, it will be deeply appreciated and go a long way. If there are any local businesses or trades people that can help with their skills and times too, it would be phenomenal. As we approach the end of the Living Wage UK week (10-16 November), it’s been great to hear the real lived views of our colleagues and the impact being paid above the real Living Wage has had for them.

Without our incredible purple army, we wouldn’t be the quality service we are today! We appreciate them all so much and couldn’t do what we do without them.

We’re continue the celebration and recognition of livingwagefoundation week (10-16 November) here at Haven, with real lived experiences. Here is one from one of our supervisors who started her carer with us as a care worker and has worked with us to develop into a field care supervisor, supporting the team and people in our care!

The Living Wage has made a different because…
