Tight muscles can be a result of your nervous system becoming a bit too switched on!

A little bit like an electric current that never switches off and constantly sends signals to the muscles. The muscles get tired from the constant messages.

Gentle massage can be effective in reducing symptoms, and dependent on the cause of the fluid retention, it is often worth trying gentle massage to help reduce the symptoms.

However, it is very important to seek medical advice first as massage is not appropriate in all cases! 🤔

“After suffering for a couple of months with discomfort in the hips. Which got so severe that I struggled to walk after a game of golf, and suffered severe discomfort whilst playing. I decided to visit Priscilla Nelson Golf Club

After the first session of a 1 hour long Sports massage of all the associated muscle groups. The results overnight were fantastic, and just got better over the following week. I then followed it up with a second session a week later, just to make sure any lingering tightness was dealt with.
With her professionalism and knowledge of human physiology and muscle groups, I would highly recommend her to anyone"

By the time we reach 50 years old, about 1 in 4 adults (or 25%) have some form of osteoarthritis (OA) in at least one joint, according to epidemiological studies.

Knees are the most commonly affected joints. About 10-13% of people over 50 have symptomatic knee OA.

Hands and hips are also frequently affected.

How can massage help?

1. Improve circulation around the joint.

Even after the injury heals, your body might continue using these altered movement patterns, which can lead to tension, imbalance, or even chronic pain.

In a way this is your nervous system and body remembering the injury and compensating & protecting itself from further injury.
