Super Start to September 🥰

We have had a lovely start to the month here at ASH! Some of our residents joined our WISH activity staff for a fun-filled trip to the supermarket and lunch out. They had a blast browsing the aisles and picking out there favorite treats. 🛍️

As September arrives, we're getting cozy with autumn-themed arts and crafts to decorate our home. And we had a special celebration - our dear resident Saran's 56th birthday! We showered her with love, well wishes, and warm birthday wishes 🎂✨

Dance-Ability Disco 🪩 💃🕺

Last week, our ladies and gents had so much fun at the disco evening in Colne. Here is what WISH Activity Team Lead Razia said on their return, “Just back from the monthly Dance-Ability disco and we're still dancing on air! As always, it was a wonderful night filled with meeting new people, We had the honour to meet our local Labour MP Jonathan Hinder. There was lots of laughter, and plenty of dancing… By the time we got back, everyone was definitely ready for bed!” ❤️

Lunch at Guy's Thatched Hamlet 🍽️❤️

Last week we had a lovely afternoon out for our lovely gents and WISH Activity Team as we enjoyed a delightful pub lunch at Guy's Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow, Preston. There was great food, wonderful company, and beautiful weather - what more could you ask ?🌞

Puppy Cuddles All Round! 🐾💖

At the end of August we were thrilled to welcome the Pendle Dogs Rescue Team, who brought some adorable furry friends to visit our residents. Meet Nachos, Taco, and Burrito - the lovable dachshund trio who stole hearts! ❤️❤️❤️

Our residents absolutely adored these cuties and enjoyed plenty of cuddles. What a fabulous pet therapy morning 🥰

SUMMER FAYRE SUCCESS! ☀️❤️

On Saturday we held our annual summer fair and we would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing residents, families, staff, and local shops for making our summer fayre a splashing success! 🎉

We had 2 fantastic singers who came to perform for our residents and visitors but unfortunately, the weather were not on our side… despite this, we had an amazing day indoors 🥰

We raised an incredible £570 for our resident fund, and it was all thanks to your generosity and hard work ❤️

💐 Goodbye to our Super Shakira 💐

Last week, we said goodbye to our Unit Manager, Shakira. This was a very sad day indeed, as she started with the company 6 years ago as a Care Assistant and worked her way up to Unit Manager 🌟

Home Manager Diane said, “She was a joy and pleasure to work with. Always happy, smiling and made us laugh. I know she will keep in contact with us and the home and will be very much missed. We wish her all the very best with her future life and hope her dreams come true!” ❤️

Introducing Elvis & Elton 🦜❤️🦜

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our beloved Nugget, the rabbit, who left us to go to heaven. He was a very well loved member of our family and home and we will miss him so much.

As we did not want another so soon, as he cannot be replaced, we would now like to formally introduce our beautiful budgies, Elvis and Mr Elton John (Elton).

They are already causing a lot of happiness and chatter in our home ❤️

A message from WISH Activity Team Lead Razia, “On behalf of Andrew Smith House, I'm excited to invite you to our annual Summer Fair! This year's event will take place on Saturday, 23rd August from 10am to 4pm. The Summer Fair aims to raise money for our residents' fund, which will be used to organize entertainment and activities for them.

Join us for an afternoon of fun-filled games and exciting prizes, including:

Gift tombola
Chocolate tombola
Bottle tombola
Stalls

Raffle tickets are still on sale and the draw is on 22nd August at 2 o’clock in Lyness unit's dinning room.

For the month of July, we are so pleased to announce that our employee of the month is Deputy Manager, Keeley! 💐

Home Manager Diane said, “Keeley has been with us for over three years now and has grown and developed so much. Sometimes as managers, we are always thinking of our teams and forget about our fellow management roles when choosing the recipient of the award. Diane would like to say thank you Keeley for everything you do.”
