Today is International Men’s Day 🖤

This year’s theme is Men and Boys. At Men Talk, we know that mental health isn’t a one-size-fits-all issue. It affects men of all ages in different ways, and it’s okay to talk about it. Opening up about stress, anxiety, or tough moments can lighten the load, reduce isolation, and help us support each other better.

Remember:
You’re not alone. Reaching out is a sign of strength.
Small steps matter: breathing exercises, a quick walk, or a chat with someone who listens.
We’re here to talk, listen, and walk this path together.

Men Talk session is tomorrow at 6:00pm. Join us for a supportive, non-judgmental space where we can share, listen, and look after our mental health together.

Date: 20/11/2025
Time: 6:00pm
Location: Hodge House Community Centre

Appreciation Post 🧡

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to John Wright's family and friends for donating £125 to Men Talk at John's funeral. Your generosity is hugely appreciated and will make a meaningful difference to our group and the people we support.

In John's memory, your kindness continues to inspire and strengthen our community. The funds will directly support ongoing activities that promote mental health, connection, and resilience for men in our community. With every walk, talk, and shared moment, we’re reminded of the importance of looking out for one another.

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to share that we’ll be hosting a special guest at Men Talk: Harry Astin from Pendle Leisure Trust. Harry is taking part in a powerful su***de prevention campaign in November, undertaking 12 miles a day for the entire month to honour the 12 lads who lose their lives to su***de every day.

Details:
When: Thursday 6th November 6pm
Where: Men Talk group, Hodge House Community Centre
Who: Harry Astin, Pendle Leisure Trust representative
Why: To raise awareness, spread the word about mental health support, and represent the trust in our community effort

Harry will be joining us to share his mission, experiences, and ways we can all get involved to support men’s mental health and prevent su***des. This is a meaningful opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to a cause that affects so many of us.

World Mental Health Day 🧡

Today’s World Mental Health Day, and we just want to say how passionate we are about the power of a simple chat. Opening up in a safe space isn’t easy, but it really helps us feel seen, heard, and a bit lighter.

And you know what helps even more? Moving together. A good walk does wonders for the mood, clears the head, and reminds us our body’s on our side. Walking with mates makes the hard stuff feel a bit more doable and adds a bit of everyday joy to the day.

Today we did a trek to raise awareness for mental health with The Complete Construction Company NW Ltd and The Complete Scaffolding Company NW Ltd. A big shout-out to everyone involved for helping start important conversations and getting people moving.

So if you’re up for it, reach out to a friend or someone you trust and have a chat or join our group. If you’re keen to move too, join us for a walk — no pressure, just support and good company.

Huge thanks to everyone who shows up, listens, and looks out for each other. You’re making a real difference.

Great turnout tonight, and we welcomed 2 new members. Some really good conversations, and it was clear there was lots of support for each other and practical advice shared.

Please check in on each other as this time of year can be tough. For some, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can make days feel darker and harder to handle. If you’re feeling down, or off your usual mood, you’re not alone—reach out to someone you trust or talk to us.

If anyone needs extra support, remember we’re here for you.

This evening we have some very sad news. Our dear friend John has passed away. 😢

John was an amazing guy, always smiling and had a way of making others smile too. Our thoughts are with John's family and friends during this sad time.

This week’s Men Talk session will be dedicated to John. Rest in peace, my friend. 🧡

Talking about what we’re feeling can help lighten the load. Mental health matters, and no one has to face it alone. Sharing experiences in a supportive space can reduce stigma, ease anxiety, and help us feel connected.

If anyone needs support:
You can contact us directly via this page or WALK and TALK.
You’re welcome to attend this week’s session or any future session for a confidential chat
