☀Weekly Round-Up ☀

📸 This week, our carer Ian enjoyed a lovely day out with a client at Wi******er Cathedral, exploring the "Here Comes the Sun (Helios)" by artist Luke Jerram, art installation. Measuring an impressive seven metres in diameter, the artwork features detailed imagery of the Sun’s surface. A brilliant outing filled with art, wonder, and smiles. 🌞

📸 We also had lots of fun with our Knightwood Singing for the Brain group. These sessions are full of laughter, music, and connection. We currently run five Singing for the Brain groups, all free to attend, dementia-friendly, and great fun.
If you’d like to learn more or join us, please get in touch. We’d love to welcome you 🎶💛

We had the most wonderful time last week celebrating 20 incredible years of 💚

Jan, Steve, Melissa, Alyson, Nicola and Miranda joined the celebrations and it was such a joy to connect with so many other officers from across the network.

We were treated to appearances from Joel Dommett, Jason Donovan, plus an unforgettable performance from the cast of the Lion King 🦁 ⭐️

What a fantastic way to mark two decades of compassion, dedication and outstanding home care. Here’s to the next 20 years 🥂💫

This week, one of our wonderful live-in carers, Gee, enjoyed a fantastic day out with Mr M at the Army Flying Museum - a brilliant way to spend the day, especially when the weather isn’t great ☁️➡️✨

This week was full of learning, laughter, and lots of love = the perfect Valentine’s vibe! 💌

Our wonderful carer Sumena came into the office for a spot of training with Stephen, our fantastic trainer. Not only that, she surprised us all with a delicious homemade feast to share. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and we truly felt the love 💕🍽️

Valentine’s Day isn’t only about romantic love ❤️

It’s about the kindness, care, and compassion our carers share every single day.

From a warm cup of tea to a friendly chat or simply being there to listen, it’s the little moments of love that mean the most. 💖☕💬

A huge shoutout to OHCO Coffee ☕️✨

One of our carers recently took a client in for a visit, and they had the loveliest experience! A delicious and beautiful cup of coffee and a sweet biscotti treat to top it off!

A very special mention to Piers the barista, who made them feel so welcome. It means so much to see a local café creating such an inclusive, friendly space for everyone in our community. 💛

We’re truly grateful for businesses like OHCO Coffee who go the extra mile to make everyone feel at home.

✨ Weekly Round-Up ✨

This week was full of community spirit, laughter, and some very special moments - just how we like it!

📸 Photo 1: Three of the wonderful volunteers enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake at the brand-new Memory Lane Café, now running every Wednesday at Unit 12, Winnall. It’s a lovely way to meet new people in a comfortable, happy environment. Everyone is very welcome, so please do come along. ☕

📸 Photo 2: A game of Ludo getting started at the café, lots of fun and friendly competition. 🎲

📸 Photo 3: A delicious celebratory cake kindly made by Unit 12 to mark the very first Memory Lane Café session. A perfect way to celebrate! 🎂

📸 Photo 4: Two ladies deep in a game of Four in a Row, although it got rather competitive! But there were plenty of laughs along the way! 😄

📸 Photo 5: A special moment at the 10th anniversary of dementia-friendly films at EverymanCinema Wi******er. The wonderful Mayor of Wi******er kindly let Tony, our Community Networker, try on the Mayor’s chain of office - a historic symbol of the city, worn for ceremonial occasions and steeped in tradition. 💛

📸 Photo 6: A lovely group photo of Kate (our Marketing Officer), the Mayor, Hannah from Everyman Cinema (who has been there for every single dementia-friendly screening over the past 10 years), and Tony - all smiles! 🎥

📸 Photo 7: A photo of a newspaper article from the very first dementia-friendly screening, featuring the lovely Shirley, who worked for Home Instead Central Hampshire at the time and still runs the cinema group on our behalf. A full-circle moment 💕

📸 Photo 8: A behind-the-scenes view of everyone settled in and enjoying the film together. 🍿

A huge thank you to Everyman Wi******er for such a wonderful event. The dementia-friendly films take place on the first Wednesday of every month and are free to attend 🎬✨

It’s been a week full of connection, community, and shared joy. A big thank you to everyone who made it so special 💛
