🚨 Important update 🚨

A major incident has been declared at University Hospital Southampton following a fire earlier this morning.

As a result, patients are being diverted away from the hospital and Lymington UTC is expected to be extremely busy today.

Please consider carefully whether you need to attend the UTC today. If appropriate, you may be able to get clinical advice and support through NHS 111 or your local pharmacy.

December's stats are in and the Lymington UTC ended 2025 with the same outstanding patient care the they've delivered all year - well done Team!

In December, our incredible team cared for 2775 patients who came to us with illness or injury.

Thanks to their dedication and teamwork:

✅ 98% were seen within 2 hours
✅ 98% were seen within 4 hours

A huge thank you to Friends of Lymington for their incredible generosity in funding Christmas lunch for all the staff working on Christmas Day at Lymington UTC 🎄

Your kindness helped make a long day of caring for patients that little bit warmer and brighter, and it truly meant a lot to the team who gave up time with their own families to be there for our community.

A Fond Farewell to Tracey Lockley

This week, the Lymington UTC team said a heartfelt goodbye to Tracey Lockley, who is retiring after an incredible 42 years in nursing, with the last 23 years dedicated to Lymington Hospital.

Tracey has been an exceptional clinician, highly respected by colleagues and loved by patients. Her dedication, kindness, and wealth of experience have made a lasting impact on everyone she’s worked with.

Thank you, Tracey, for everything you’ve done for the UTC and the community. We wish you the very best in your well-earned retirement enjoying family time and your upcoming holidays (especially the cruises)!

We’re thrilled to announce the official opening of our newly refurbished paediatric waiting area which is now a calm, engaging and neurodivergent-friendly space designed especially for children and young people.

The redesign features sensory toys, an infinity mirror, colourful murals and new seating, all in a quieter part of the UTC to reduce sensory noise. This space is all about comfort, distraction and creating a sense of safety for our young patients.

A huge thank you to Sign It for their support with graphics and to Lymington Rotary Club for funding the project. Our continual thanks, as ever, go to the very supportive Friends of the Hospital.

The space is dedicated to the memory of our much-loved colleague, Charlotte Bye, who inspired us all. We were delighted to have been joined by Charlotte's parents for the opening of the waiting area.
