So yesterday we had our ‘Shrove Monday’ as today we are having our celebrations/party. We enjoyed many different pancake fillers, one being not so enjoyable, ’the boobie pancake’ which filler was marmite! 🤣…as you can see by a couple of faces! 😂🤣😂. We then had a pancake throwing game which was hilarious!! Lots of fun had by all! 🤩🥞🥞🥞

🧧🎊To start celebrating Chinese new year a day early, we drew our Chinese star sign animal and coloured them in with paints or pens. We gave it a good go and they looked pretty good afterwards. 🎊🧧

We did some flower arranging yesterday making up several posies to decorate both our dining rooms with, also pulled out our flower presses that we’d pressed some foliage in last year, we forgot how much we’d pressed! & the lavender still had such a beautiful scent even almost a year on! 💐🤩🌼🌺🌸

Something a bit different today, we had Oren visit us with his accordion playing & singing some of our old favourites including a few much loved old Cockney ditties which got us all joining in! Great fun had by all! 🪗🤩🎶🪗

💐🤩This afternoon we got out our fiddly fingers to make some tissue paper flowers in hopes that spring would come sooner. They came out wonderful and brightened up the rooms🤩💐

Well, this was something a bit different & a treat for us sweet toothed, sugar lovers…we made our own candy floss! 😋 We had 5 different flavours to choose from, the most popular being the orange or lemon & lime. The colours didn’t show up once the sugar was spun, until we took a bite! 😜 A bit difficult to twist onto the sticks at first but it turned out to be great fun & took us right back to the good ol’ days of visiting the fair! 🎡🎠🤩

We spent an afternoon making Winnie the Pooh characters into paper plates. It was a bit of a challenge and a bit messy but they looked pretty cool in the end.🍯🐝

Yesterday we got together for our knitting club, our plan is to make lots of squares, as many as possible & stitch them all together. We had the help from lovely Eileen who came to lend a hand & knitting some squares herself towards our project. Plammy, one of our chefs who is Bulgarian told us how a lot of the men there know how to knit as the weather being so cold there they would knit a type of ‘slipper’ to keep their feet warm.
We also had a ‘birthday girl’ with us! We all sang happy birthday & wished her a very special day! 🤩🧶🎉🤗
