A birthday treat at Espino Lounge 🎂☕

Brian and Neil recently enjoyed tea, cake, and a cosy atmosphere while celebrating Brian’s birthday. Brian loved opening his card and gift, making it a special afternoon before his family celebration at the weekend.

Our residents enjoyed getting ready for Burns Night last week 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

With the weather keeping us indoors, residents spent one afternoon making table decorations using upcycled tin cans. Finished with tartan designs and sporrans, the decorations were used as cutlery holders on Burns Night.

We were proud to recently present cheques to our two 2025 Charities of the Year, Elsie's Rose and Hampshire Search and Rescue, following a year of fundraising at Kingfishers.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of our residents, the support of families and friends, and the dedication of our team, we raised an incredible amount... and had a lot of fun along the way!

Resident Mollie, seen here, was one of our most keen organisers, so it was only right she had the honour of presenting the cheque to charity representatives Annie and Trevor.

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising activities and helped make this possible.

A lovely afternoon of history for our residents ☕️🏛️

Our visit to the St Barbe Museum + Art Gallery sparked plenty of conversation as residents explored the historical walkway and its fascinating memorabilia. We finished the afternoon with tea and coffee, reflecting on what we’d learned along the way. As resident Neil said, “Thank you for a lovely afternoon!”

Our residents had a wonderful afternoon crafting colourful flowers from pipe cleaners 🌸 Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a cup of tea and a chat about their favourite childhood crafts.

From our Christmas Gala to performing with our New Forest sister homes at the St Thomas Church Christmas Tree Festival, this festive season has been full of magical moments.

As the year draws to a close, everybody at Kingfishers sends their warmest Christmas and New Year wishes. It’s been a year of shared stories, laughter, and community — and we look forward to continuing to create meaningful moments with our residents and their loved ones in 2026 🎉

Residents recently worked together for their entry for the Colten Christmas Cake Challenge, choosing to make a Victoria sponge after finding inspiration online.

Everyone was involved in the process, from mixing the batter to rolling out the fondant icing and cutting out star shapes. The finished cake reflected the group’s shared effort.

Our residents came together for a creative afternoon, turning a surprise donation of fabric into a giant bow for the Activity Room door 🎀

With Daphne leading the sewing, everyone joined in — stitching, encouraging, and laughing. When they finished, they stepped back to admire their hard work, which we think looks brilliant!

Our residents recently came together to select a charity close to our hearts. After thoughtful discussions and a lively vote, we’re delighted to support Helping Older People New Forest this year.

The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and a real sense of community as residents placed their votes and watched Pat carefully count the results. It was a heartwarming moment, showing how coming together can strengthen connections and support a cause that matters.
