Our residents recently gathered in the main lounge for a lively evening of dancing, singing, and laughter at our karaoke evening 🎤

Residents explored their creative sides by experimenting with musical instruments and singing and dancing along to favourite tunes, each song chosen at random from a box of surprises — adding a touch of excitement to every performance.

Every resident embraced the moment with enthusiasm. The evening ended on a relaxing note with a light cool-down exercise, leaving everyone refreshed.

Our residents recently gathered for a lively choir rehearsal with our Music and Arts Partner, Fiona. The room was filled with festive cheer as everyone prepared for the upcoming Christmas Tree Festival at St. Thomas Church!

Resident Mollie shared, “It’s wonderful to sing with everyone and get into the Christmas spirit. I can’t wait for people to hear us at the church.”

Our incredible Customer Support Advisor, Tracy, was the recipient of this year's Values Award at the Colten Care Champions.

We are so grateful to Tracy for her dedication to her role, supporting residents from the very first moment they start their care journey and continuing to be a cornerstone of the Kingfishers community.

Judges said: "Tracy lives and breathes our values every day, playing a massive part in her home team. She connects with the community, always sharing her warmth and positivity. Known for her constant smile, she brings joy to colleagues, residents, families, and visitors alike."

We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate Tracy and the incredible difference she makes every single day!

When Companion Elaine noticed some beautiful artwork and a spinning wheel in Daphne’s room, a simple conversation revealed Daphne’s lifelong passion for this wonderful craft.

Daphne, a former art and textiles teacher with a wealth of knowledge, hesitantly agreed to give a talk and demonstration for the other residents. We gathered an impressive array of her materials and creations to display in the activity room, and the event quickly drew a curious and enthusiastic crowd.

Although Daphne admitted to feeling nervous beforehand, she later shared that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience — and so did everyone who attended!

Brian’s wish came true recently with a lovely pub lunch at The White Hart in Cadnam. He shared how grateful he was, saying to Companionship Team Leader Rose: “Thank you for fulfilling my little wish.”

Joining him were fellow residents Alan, Mollie, and Kay, who were all thrilled to enjoy the warm conversations and delicious food together.

Kingfishers were lucky enough to welcome back very talented singer, Bee Chumley Vocalist, recently.

Two of our residents, Joan and Pam are always up for a boogie so were first up on the dance floor once Bee started performing.

When Bee started to sing ‘Tie a Yellow Ribbon’ we gave out some coloured chiffon scarves to the residents so that they could wave them in time to the music and enjoy singing along with some added movement.

When the music had finished, resident June said, ‘ That lady is one to have back! She sang all the right music that everyone knew and could join in with.’

Kingfishers recently welcomed two beautiful spaniels for a special visit in honour of International Dog Day.

Our residents enjoyed cuddles, gentle strokes, and plenty of tail wags. The dogs brought so much joy and laughter, brightening the day and sparking lovely conversations about past pets and happy memories.

As part of our Gardens for Wellbeing Week celebrations, residents took part in a pebble design competition with the support of our wonderful Companions Rose and Sarah.

Residents set to work, hand-painting pebbles with adorable bee and ladybird designs, complete with googly eyes and glittery details.

These beautifully decorated pebbles were turned into outdoor noughts and crosses game boards, now proudly displayed in our garden.
