Happy International Nurses Day! 💙

Today Bethel House visited our wonderful local district nursing team and GP Practice to say thank you for all the care, support, compassion and dedication they show to our residents every day.

We delivered some bacon rolls as a small token of appreciation for everything they do for our community. 🥓✨

Today at Bethel House, we celebrated VE Day with a wonderful day full of memories, music, and conversation 🇬🇧

Our morning started with the wonderful Lisa performing retro classics, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. In the afternoon, Tyron, our maintenance man, got dressed in his Italian WW2 theatre wear and brought along a No. 4 rifle and some grenades to show the residents.

Many discussions were shared throughout the day as residents reflected on their memories and experiences. Fred spoke about his time in the Royal Artillery, and Michael shared memories of serving in the Army Signal Corps of Physical Training.

It was lovely to see so many memories being discussed , some happy, some sad and to spend time remembering such an important part of history together!

For decades, Sir David has inspired generations through his extraordinary work celebrating and protecting our planet. His passion, wisdom, and dedication to the natural world have helped us all see the beauty and importance of the world around us.

As he turns 100, we honour not only his incredible achievements, but also the kindness, hope, and care for nature that he continues to share with the world.

We had a lovely yoga session this week at Bethel House with the wonderful Sasha 🧘‍♀️

We really enjoyed the calmness, gentle movement, and time to relax together. It was such a peaceful and uplifting experience for everyone involved.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our amazing Senior Carers here at Bethel House! 💙

She has been awarded the “Caring for Each Other” award across the entire Hartford Care Group — a truly outstanding achievement and so deserved. Her compassion, dedication, and support for both residents and colleagues make a difference every single day.

We are so lucky to have her as part of our team, and we can’t wait to celebrate this wonderful achievement with her at the gala next year! ✨

On the 9th May, family members of Andy (one of our newer residents) will be completing the Alzheimer’s Trek 26 marathon walk around London city centre in a bid to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society, a brilliant charity that supports people with dementia.

We’re supporting them all the way and would like to share their Just Giving Page where donations, big or small, can be made. Andy and his family are very grateful for any contributions made 😊❤️

Over the weekend some of our kind staff took some of our residents to the garden center and the New forest for some sight seeing, as you can see they had a great time.

We are looking forward to our garden project with the residents and staff 🌿 We were even treated to a Sunday roast thank you to Otter Garden Centres for our lovely meal!

Thank you for Harold and Kira taking personal time to spend with our residents 🩷
