If you manage a team, school, nursery, after-school club, café, gym or community space (anywhere where children are likely to be around), this is your sign to get first aid training booked for 2026.

January always arrives with fresh starts, packed diaries and last-minute scrambles to “sort the training out”. Booking now means one less thing hanging over you as the year wraps up and peace of mind knowing your team is prepared.

We deliver accredited workplace first aid training across North Nottinghamshire and can come directly to your setting. The sessions are practical, confidence-building and tailored to real-life situations your staff may face, so people leave knowing what to do instead of just ticking a box.

Whether you need Paediatric First Aid, First Aid at Work, refreshers or tailored training for your team, now is the ideal time to secure a date before diaries fill up.

Send a DM to chat about business or group bookings and get it sorted before the New Year rush. 💚

We give so many gifts that look lovely, get used once, then quietly disappear into cupboards and toy boxes. But some gifts go deeper and stay with people for life.

A Baby & Child First Aid class is one of those gifts. It’s knowledge, confidence and clarity in moments that really matter. It’s knowing how to respond if something feels scary, instead of freezing or guessing. And it’s skills that protect not just one child, but an entire family.

If you’re stuck for a meaningful Christmas present, a baby shower gift or a birthday treat for a new (or soon-to-be) parent, this is a beautiful alternative to more “stuff”.

DM us to arrange a gift that could one day help save a life. 💚

Hosting kids over the holidays? Read these quick tips…

When your house suddenly fills up with children, cousins, toddlers and babies, things change fast. Routines are out the window, furniture gets moved, bags are dumped everywhere, adults are distracted, and kids are excited (and everywhere).

That mix of excitement + busyness is exactly when accidents are more likely to happen.
Before everyone arrives, take two minutes to do a quick hazard scan around your home.

It really can make all the difference.
✔ Hot drinks and candles moved well out of reach
✔ Button batteries, remote controls and small toys safely secured
✔ Cleaning products and medicines stored up high
✔ Pets fed separately and given a quiet space away from small children
✔ Stair gates closed and doors checked

It doesn’t need to be perfect or stressful. It’s simply about reducing risks while juggling food, hosting, tired little people and full-grown adults.

Parenting and hosting at the same time is a lot. A quick safety check can help you all relax and actually enjoy being together, instead of spending the day worrying about what might go wrong.

🔖 Save this post for now, and remember - if the unexpected happens, knowing what to do makes all the difference.

That confidence is exactly what Mini First Aid classes are designed to give. 💚

🛑 Before they bounce… let’s talk trampoline safety.

Trampolines can be brilliant for burning off energy, building coordination, and keeping kids active – but they’re also one of the top causes of childhood injury, especially in the summer. Sprains, bumps, head knocks, even broken bones… we see them all.

At Mini First Aid, we’re not about bubble-wrapping kids (because let’s be honest, they’ll always find a way to test limits!) – but we are about giving you the know-how to prevent accidents where possible and deal with them calmly if they do happen.

✅ One jumper at a time
✅ Safety net zipped up
✅ No flips unless properly trained
✅ Always supervise – even “big kids”

And if an accident does happen? Our classes will give you the skills to spot when it’s just a bump that needs a cuddle – and when it’s time to get professional help.

Because happy bouncing is great… panicked dashing to A&E? Not so much.

It’s that time of year where we’re juggling a million things at once. School plays, last-minute work deadlines, endless food shopping lists, travel plans, family visits, the big tidy-up, remembering batteries, wrapping paper, and something for that person who “doesn’t need anything.”

In all the chaos, can I gently nudge something up your priority list?
Your winter first aid + home medicine stash.

Because once shops close or you’re iced-in, everyone’s tired, emotions are high, routines are totally out the window and people are up later than usual… that’s exactly when bumps, tummy bugs, mystery fevers, cuts, slips, sniffles and sudden “I don’t feel well” moments seem to appear.

Being stocked up doesn’t make you paranoid, it makes the next few weeks calmer.
It means you have what you need in the moment, without having to hunt for a 24-hour chemist in slippers and pyjamas or wait for the delivery slot that’s somehow two days away.

Here are a few things worth checking:
✔ Plasters in multiple sizes
✔ Sterile wipes and wound wash
✔ Kids and adult pain relief (within date)
✔ Digital thermometer
✔ Rehydration sachets
✔ Antihistamines
✔ Ice packs
✔ Tweezers and small scissors
✔ Any regular prescriptions topped up
✔ Calpol and Nurofen alternatives if shelves have gone empty

And if you’re travelling, visiting family or staying somewhere new – pop a mini first aid pouch in your bag!

Save + share if you know someone who always means to do this, but time runs away from

🛝 Trampolines, climbing frames, garden slides – love them or loathe them, they’re magnets for summer fun and for injuries.

I’m not saying wrap your kids in bubble wrap (though, tempting on some days). But a few simple checks can save a whole lot of drama:
✔️ Only one child on the trampoline at a time
✔️ Nets zipped shut
✔️ Soft landings around play areas (hello grass, goodbye concrete)
✔️ Keep equipment age-appropriate

Jo and I have heard it all – from sprained wrists to concussion. First aid helps you respond well if something happens, but prevention always comes first.

Our classes cover loads of real-life stuff like this – the kind you don’t think about until someone’s crying with a bleeding knee and you’ve got no plasters in your bag.

We’ve got you. Come learn with us.
