The holidays can be full of lovely moments… but they can also feel a lot 💛

A lot of noise
A lot of change
A lot of emotions all at once

And for many children, especially those who feel things deeply, it can quickly become overwhelming.

This is something I support families with all the time.

When routines shift, expectations change and days feel less predictable, children can struggle to process what is happening. That might show up as meltdowns, withdrawal, frustration or big emotional reactions that seem to come out of nowhere.

But underneath it all, they are not being difficult. They are feeling overwhelmed.

In our sessions, I gently help children understand what is happening inside them and give them simple tools they can actually use in the moment. Things like calming techniques, ways to express emotions safely and building confidence so they feel more in control.

I also support you as a parent so you feel calmer and more confident navigating those tricky moments at home.

You do not have to just get through the holidays. It is possible to feel more prepared, more connected and more supported.

If you are already thinking ahead to the next school break or noticing your child struggles during busy periods, I am here to help 🌿

Parent Support Sanctuary is back next month.

Tuesday 7th April, 8pm

This is a relaxed, supportive space for parents who sometimes feel like they’re figuring things out as they go.

No judgement.
No pressure to speak.
No expectation to have everything together.

You can join with cameras on or off, speak if you want to, or simply listen.

This month we’re joined by Jane Miller, who will be helping parents understand the pathways and processes for getting autism or ADHD assessments for themselves or their child.

If you know a parent who might find this helpful, please share this with them.

Sometimes just knowing where to start can make everything feel a little lighter.

One of my favourite little rituals before the Parent Support Sanctuary each month looks like this 💛

Curled up on the sofa.
Cat purring beside me.
Cup of tea in hand.
Slides open and ready for one final review.

There is something really grounding about that quiet preparation time. I go through each slide slowly, asking myself, “Will this genuinely help a parent feel calmer? Will this make things feel clearer? Is this practical enough for real life?”

I think about the families I have worked with that week. The questions that came up. The moments of overwhelm. The breakthroughs. I make tweaks. I add examples. I soften wording. I make sure what I am sharing feels supportive, not heavy.

The Parent Support Sanctuary is never about perfect parenting. It is about honest conversations, useful tools and creating a space where you can exhale a little.

If you would love an hour each month that feels like reassurance, guidance and a reminder that you are not alone in this, I would love you to join us.

Sign up for the next monthly supportive meeting and come and be part of it. The kettle will be on 🌿

How many times does your child ask for a tablet so that they can play games or watch YouTube?

Did you know that there is a better way for them to use their screen time?

My six-week course is designed to help turn screen time into personal development time, where you can sit with them to learn more about your emotions and communication as a parent and child.

With items that you have at home, I’ll show you simple and effective tools to get you and your child talking about your emotions, how they affect us and how we can better manage them.

Sign up for the six-week course, and make better use of their screen time this Easter Holiday through the Positive Pants website.

If you’d like to find out more about my courses and the support I can offer you and your family, visit my website.

When I designed my six-week course, I had one thought in my mind - I wanted to make something that would take pressure off parents as well as teach children about their emotions.

So, I knew I couldn’t design something that would require a lengthy shopping list of items required by parents to provide for their children.

As a mum, I knew I would hate to see something that looked like it was going to give me some really useful tools and activities to use with my child and then to receive a list of items I needed to buy beforehand.

My six-week course is designed to use simple, at-home items that you are likely to already have.

If you’d like to find out more about my courses and the support I can offer you and your family, visit my website.

I developed and released my six-week course for children and parents because I kept hearing the same thing again and again 💛

Parents were telling me they wanted to support their children’s emotional well-being, but they did not always know what to say in the moment, how to respond to big feelings or how to build confidence and resilience at home in a way that actually fits into real family life.

This course was created to change that.

Over six weeks, I guide you through practical tools, gentle mindset shifts and simple strategies that help you support your child with confidence. It is designed to help you understand what is really going on underneath the emotions, feel calmer in your own responses and create a home environment where your child feels safe, heard and supported.

I wanted parents to have something they could come back to again and again. Something that builds lasting habits, not quick fixes. Something that helps you and your child grow together 🌿✨

If you would like to be part of it, you can register your interest via the website and I will share more details very soon 💛

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes before the Parent Support Sanctuary goes live each month? 💛

It is not just me turning up at 8pm with a cup of tea and hoping for the best.

In the days leading up to each session, I spend time reflecting on the conversations I have been having with parents. The worries that keep coming up. The themes I am noticing. The quiet questions people sometimes feel nervous to ask out loud.

I carefully plan the focus so it feels relevant and supportive. I think about practical tools you can actually use in real family life, not just ideas that sound good on paper. I build in space for discussion because being heard is just as important as being guided.

I also make sure the space feels calm and welcoming. The Sanctuary is not about judgement or being told what you should be doing. It is about reassurance, shared experience and gentle strategies that help you feel more confident.

Every month I am reminded that when parents feel supported, everything shifts. The atmosphere at home softens. Big feelings feel more manageable. Connection grows.

If you have been thinking about joining but have not quite taken the step, this is your nudge. Come and sit with us. Bring your questions. Bring your honesty. You do not have to figure it all out alone.

You can book onto the next Parent Support Sanctuary via the link in my bio. I would love to see you there 🌿

Before the school holidays begin, there is something really important we can do as parents.

Pause and check in 💛

Not just about plans and childcare or what days you are off work. But about your child’s emotional wellbeing.

Here are a few gentle ways to check in before the routine shifts.

Start with curiosity
Ask open questions like “How are you feeling about the holidays coming up?” or “Is there anything you’re excited or worried about?” You might be surprised by what they share.

Notice behaviour changes
Are they more tired, more sensitive or more clingy than usual? Sometimes big feelings show up in behaviour long before they show up in words.

Create a calm moment
Choose a relaxed time to chat. A car journey, a walk or cuddled up at bedtime can feel safer than a face to face question at the kitchen table.

Normalise mixed feelings
Let them know it is okay to feel excited and unsettled at the same time. Transitions can feel big, even when they are positive ones.

When we check in early, we give children space to process what is coming. We help them feel seen and understood before emotions build up.

If you feel your child might need extra support preparing for the holidays, that is exactly what I am here for. A little preparation now can make a big difference to how your family experiences the break.

You are not overthinking it. You are being proactive. And that is powerful 🌿

Sometimes children do not need telling off. They need tools 💛

If you are wondering whether your child might need more emotional support, here are three signs to look out for.

1. Big reactions to small things
If minor frustrations quickly turn into meltdowns, tears or anger, it can be a sign that your child feels overwhelmed inside. They may not yet have the tools to regulate what they are feeling.
2. Shutting down or avoiding
Some children go quiet instead of explosive. They might avoid certain tasks, withdraw from conversations or say “I don’t know” when asked how they feel. Often this means they do not have the language to express what is happening internally.
3. Negative self talk
Listen out for phrases like “I’m stupid”, “I can’t do it” or “I always get it wrong”. Confidence dips are common, but repeated negative self talk is a sign your child needs support building resilience and self belief.

None of these signs mean you are failing. They simply mean your child is still learning how to understand and manage their emotions.

With the right tools, children can learn to pause, name what they are feeling and respond more calmly. That is where real confidence begins to grow.

Save this post if it resonates and remember, support is available whenever you feel ready to reach out 🌿

Easter is coming 💛

It might feel like we have only just settled back into routine after half term but the Easter holidays will be here before we know it. And with every school break comes a shift.

For some children that shift feels exciting. For others it can feel unsettling. Changes in routine, later nights, different plans, more time at home. All of it can bring big emotions bubbling up to the surface.

The key is not to wait until things feel wobbly. The key is to gently prepare.

Start talking about what the holidays might look like.
Create a loose structure so the days still feel predictable.
Check in with your child about how they are feeling.
Practise simple calming tools now so they are ready to use.

When children know what to expect and feel emotionally equipped, the transition feels smoother for everyone.

If you would like extra support preparing for the routine shift, my workshops and Parent Support Sanctuary are designed to give you practical strategies and reassurance before the holidays begin.

Let’s head into Easter feeling calmer, clearer and more confident 🌿

Put on Your Positive Pants!

Positive Pants is a product that has been created so your child can start the day with a positive mindset and maintain this all day, even when you're not there to remind them!

There will always be days when your child is feeling less than confident about their day ahead. It may be a spelling test, a dance show, worries about friendship groups, starting a new school or they may simply be missing you! Positive Pants has been created to help on those days when your child may need that extra boost to get them through the day. By waking up and putting on their Positive Pants, your child will benefit from an increased level of confidence, and the positive affirmation on them will act as an anchor and be a reminder as the day goes on to reinforce the message.

I also run workshops to build on this confidence and help children to understand the importance of gratitude and positivity.
