Today is Childhood Depression Awareness Day π
This is something that feels very personal to me.
As a teenager, I experienced feelings that I did not understand and could not explain. I did not have the words for what was going on inside me. I just knew that something felt heavy, confusing and at times, very lonely.
And that is something I carry with me in the work I do today.
Because when a child does not have the language to express how they feel, those emotions can build quietly in the background. They can show up in ways that are misunderstood or missed altogether.
That is why I am so passionate about helping children learn how to recognise, understand and talk about their emotions.
Not just when things feel overwhelming, but early. Gently. In a way that feels safe and natural.
I want children to feel seen.
To feel heard.
To know that their feelings matter.
And most importantly, to feel safe and know that there are things you can do to change those feelings and stop them from taking over.
If you have ever worried about your childβs emotional wellbeing or noticed they are struggling to express how they feel, please know you do not have to navigate it on your own.
I am here to support you and your child in building emotional resilience, confidence and the tools to communicate what is going on inside.
If this resonates with you, you are always welcome to reach out π
