🥾 Team Talk Sunday Walk – Join for as long as you like!

We’re out again this Sunday for another proper Team Talk walk — bit of fresh air, some good chat, and maybe even a dip for those who fancy it.

Meet: 9:30am at Hawton Road Allotments (near NG24 4QT)
Route: Hawton Road → Hawton Village → Winthorpe → Showground → Coddington Lane → Beacon Hill → Sconce & Devon Park
Distance: About 8.5 miles total — but you don’t have to do the whole thing!

If you just fancy the first section, or want to meet us halfway for a catch-up and coffee, that’s totally fine. It’s all about showing up, having a chat, and getting outside — not setting records.

We’ll finish at Rumbles Café in Sconce Park, and there’s an optional cold water dip in the River Devon 🏊‍♂️ for anyone feeling brave (5–10 mins just sitting in the water does wonders for your head and body).

Bring a drink, snack, towel (if dipping), and your usual walking gear.
Good chat, no pressure, no one left behind.

🥾 Sunday Walk: Hawton Road → Sconce & Devon Loop (8.5 miles)

Bit of fresh air, bit of banter, maybe a cold dip at the end, perfect Sunday reset.

This week we’re doing a loop walk from Hawton Road Allotments out through the villages and back round to Sconce and Devon Park.

🗓️ Sunday – meet 9:30am at Hawton Road Allotments (near NG24 4QT)
Distance: ~8.5 miles / 13.5 km
Time: Around 4 hours (steady pace, plenty of chat stops)
Terrain: Mostly flat – mix of riverside paths, lanes and parkland

🗺️ Route:

Hawton Road → Hawton Village – quiet countryside and a quick stop by the old church.

Hawton → Winthorpe Village – along the river, maybe a cheeky drink at The Lord Nelson.

Winthorpe → Showground → Coddington Lane – wide open farmland views.

Coddington Lane → Beacon Hill → Sconce Park – finish with a stroll through the woods and into the park café.

☕ Optional Stops

Hawton Churchyard – peaceful early break.

Winthorpe Village Green – benches and pub stop.

Rumbles Café (Sconce Park) – perfect finish.

Optional cold water dip in the River Devon 🏊‍♂️

No pressure. No judgement. Just a safe, welcoming space to talk, listen, and connect.

And tonight, we’re joined by Nathan Cumberland, a Newark lad with an incredible story.
After serving in the British Army and being seriously injured in Afghanistan, Nathan rebuilt his life with unbelievable strength and determination.
From the Invictus Games to fostering children with additional needs, he’s an inspiration to many.

If you’ve never been before, tonight’s the perfect time to come along.
