Our second trip of the week was over to Pennells Garden Centre near Lincoln on Tuesday morning.

Our residents here at Lancaster Grange were wowed with their experience.

On this trip, we had the pleasure of our residents family’s supporting us, creating precious memories with their loved ones.

Christmas lights, decorations, and endless displays filled the garden centre, along with a model village, singing animals, and a coffee shop that served delicious coffee and cakes.

Our residents got to experience a wonderful morning out, shopping with family, purchasing Christmas cards and presents and enjoying being out in their local community.

Our drive back home, resulted in conversations about future trips out after we spotted the Lancaster Bomber.

Thank you to everyone involved for such a wonderful experience and enabling our residents to experience joy and happiness together.

The trees are going up ! 🤩

We were thrilled to receive our invites on Monday, to attend the Suthers School Christmas Party, these were hand delivered to our residents, by the students and teachers.

We have also started our Christmas card crafting, on our community of Memory Lane.

Our residents enjoyed a festive Doris Day sing along, to get into the Christmas spirit.

Our November luncheon club was chosen to be held at The Tawny Owl, to our delight crackers, hats and decorations were on the table when we arrived.

We have lots going on through the month of December.

We welcome you all to join in the fun, especially our resident and family Christmas Party’s dates will be sent out by email.

We proudly hold our own ‘Songs of Praise Service’ every Sunday morning here at Lancaster Grange, for all residents of all our communities to gather together for a spiritual service.

Our Activities team, prepare and engage a service with hymns, poems, prayers and discussions, with different diverse topics, to enhance our spiritual wellbeing.

Today Cherilyn held a service recognising ‘National Tree Week’, which is celebrating it 50th year.

Residents discussed of how trees appear in the Bible, in many scriptures and the significant meanings behind them.

We discussed our appreciation for trees, why they are so important in the eco-system and to humans.

Cherilyn brought items from home for a ‘show and tell’, Ebony, Petrified wood, Jasper and Jet.
And what do they all have in common?
They all were once a tree!!

We had great fun here at our care home yesterday raising awareness for Day.

Pudsey Bear travelled around, enjoying visiting our residents rooms , playing chairity prize bingo and making appearances throughout the day.

We came together to recognise this day and to raise awareness together as a whole home for BBC Children in Need

We learnt that Pudsey Bear was first introduced in 1985 and was created by BBC'S graphic designer Joanna Lane.

Pudsey Bear is yellow and is known for its distinctive eye patch, which is covered in multi-coloured spots.

We also had two life size Pudseys in our home, sharing fun and joy for our residents.

Thank you to all for making our day enjoyable here at Lancaster Grange and helping with this chairity.

We had a fabulous afternoon yesterday, here at our carehome Lancaster Grange as we discovered 'The wonders of Pakistan' through a virtual arm chair travel experience.

Through YouTube and information provided by Golden Carers we discovered its beauty and hidden gems.

To our residents delight we learnt many wonderful things about Pakistan, turning our rainy afternoon into a special cultural experience.

Throughout the afternoon we delivered our resources, information, quiz sheets and word searchs about Pakistan to residents individual rooms, who chose not to join the armchair travel, but enabling them to enjoy the experience.

🎃 Halloween Celebrations 🎃

Residents, patients and colleagues got into the Halloween spirit of things by creating beautiful autumnal displays with painted and carved pumpkins, flowers and wreaths.

Many of our care homes and hospitals hosted fun-filled Halloween events with delicious treats, mocktails, live music entertainment, costume competitions and community celebrations.

It's safe to say that everyone had a spooktacular time. 👻

Here are some of our favourite moments.

👻🎃 Bewitching Tricks and Spooky Treats 👻🎃

Springvale Court Care Home, in Wrekenton, , was a den of ghoulish activity as the home’s spooky Halloween Adams Family got into full swing.

Colleagues embraced the spirit of Halloween by dressing up as The Addams Family. Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, Cousin Itt and Lurch all visited Trinity Square in Gateshead town centre to hand out goodie bags for children and adults, and everyone had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Addams Family.

General Manager, Gemma Rooney, shared: “Our staff love any excuse for fancy dress day! – we’ve all had a brilliant time.”

The team at Springvale Court commented: “It has been such a fun day. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Halloween spirit. And seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces’’.

🔍 Thursday Night Murder Club at Caldy Manor 🕵️‍♀️

It was an evening to remember at Caldy Manor Care Home on the as residents, colleagues and friends from Heswall & District Ladies Circle turned detectives, suspects and stars in the home’s very own Thursday Murder Club-themed evening.

Inspired by Richard Osman’s much-loved mystery novels, there were hilarious plot twists and some truly Oscar-worthy performances, the night was packed with laughs and fantastic acting from everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all, the experience was a roaring success.

Safe to say… no one saw the ending coming! 😉
