Osteotec adds to its sales team as part of 2018 market push

Jonathan Cheetham and Andrew Cambray added to UK sales team in pivotal year for the company’s growth and expansion



JAN 2nd 2018 - Osteotec has recruited Jonathan Cheetham and Andrew Cambray to its sales team, adding to the orthopaedic joint replacement company’s coverage of the North, London and the M40 Corridor. The move ensures that the expanded team can provide full service across the UK moving forwards, building upon the company’s reputation for outstanding customer service.

“I am delighted to welcome Jonathan and Andrew to the team,” said Bill Stringer, Managing Director of Osteotec. “Both are passionate about orthopaedics and want to provide the very best service to Osteotec customers. Robert Bird, who also recently joined the company full-time after 15-years as an agent for us, will lead the new team to ensure they are up to speed and fully trained in our extensive product range.”

The new recruits bring with them extensive surgical backgrounds - Cambray with nine years of experience in the orthopaedic and cranio-maxillofacial marketplace, and Cheetham with 22 years’ experience in medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

Cambray added: “I’m thrilled to have recently joined Osteotec, a company with many years in the orthopaedic and medical device business. Osteotec provides innovative, niche and quality products to help surgeons in the NHS and private sectors with successful patient outcomes. I am excited to become a contributor towards the bright future of the company.”

The news is the latest example of Osteotec’s 2018 focus on creating strong market pe*******on with both existing products and its rapidly growing silicone finger export business.

Your guide to the Osteotec Silicone Finger Joint

Designed specifically for hospitals to save on cost without compromising on quality, the Osteotec Silicone Finger Joint (OSF) is the flexible, dorsal hinged, intramedullary stemmed implant you need to know about.

The OSF was first manufactured 15 years ago with the ambition of helping patients suffering from disability due to osteoarthritis or post-traumatic arthritis. Since 1993 Osteotec has specialised in niche orthopaedic solutions, with expertise including upper and lower limb extremities.

The implant is made from high-grade, tear-resistant elastomer and indicated for interpositional arthroplasty of rheumatoid and osteoarthritic MCP (Metacarpophalangeal) and PIP (proximal interphalangeal) joints. Having recently expanded to Europe as well as the UK, the OSF has so far been implanted in over 10,000 joints.

What’s more, in direct response to requests from hand surgeons, additional smaller rasps corresponding to sizes 00, 0 and 1 have been introduced. Where traditional products may use the starter awl instrument to prepare the canals for these rasp sizes, the OSF accurately reproduces the corresponding implant stem to ensure optimal fit for every surgery.

Osteotec Silicone Finger Implant gets FDA clearance!

Osteotec are pleased to announce that on 17th April 2015 we received clearance from the FDA to market our silicone finger implant range in the USA. 510(k)s are always much valued, even for the larger medical device companies, but for a UK distributor to gain this approval is an outstanding achievement.
Osteotec will now be looking for a distribution network covering the USA and would be happy to hear from interested parties.
