A new blog will be coming shortly. However, first I have decided to update our Otitis Externa blog, found here in our websites Knowledge Centre:

The reason for this update is because over the last few years, we have seen more clients with OE than ever before. This is something I am now seeing weekly rather than infrequently. This has also been noticed by others in clinical practice and researchers alike. This prompted me to do even more research on the topic.

Back to the topic at hand. Its a long article and its taken me a while to write. There are no simple answers here and audiograms shown are examples. The actual audiograms that you may have may found when seeing these clients may be quite different depending on the cause or whether they already had some hearing issues!

There are some variation in statistics amongst authors so I have quoted the statistics that are most consistent amongst the research.

In this article we will be looking at sudden sensorineural hearing loss. This is where the hearing has deteriorated/dropped suddenly within 72 hrs in one or bot
