QUICK REMINDER TO GET YOUR VACCINATIONS
With cases on the rise again and the impending lifting of the majority of restrictions we wanted to take this opportunity to remind those West Berkshire residents who haven’t taken up the offer to get their COVID vaccination that there is still plenty of options available to do this.

VACCINATION VAN
Next week the Vaccination Van will be in and around Newbury. On Monday 12th it will be in Thatcham at the Central Family Hub which is located on Park Lane next to Thatcham Park School and information on how to book an appointment can be found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/2642630239303211/posts/3028020537430844/ and on Tuesday 13th July it will be stationed at Newbury College and appointments can be booked via https://newbury-college.ac.uk/vax . It will be open from 11:00am until 16:00pm. It will be offering first dose Pfizer for anyone over the age of 18, so if you haven’t had your jab yet and can get into Thatcham or to the college now is the time to book your slot by clicking on one of the links above. The van will return week commencing 13th September to provide second doses to all those who receive their first.

KENNET CENTRE VACCINATION CENTRE
The Kennet Centre vaccination centre is still open and running clinics for all residents who haven’t had their first vaccine and those looking to get their second. They will be open tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday this week and will be offering a Walk-In service for anyone over the age of 18 who hasn’t had their first dose. It will be Pfizer. You can also book an appointment via the national booking system
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

Please note that second doses are only available to those people who had their first 8 weeks or more ago. If your first dose was less than 8 weeks ago then you cannot have your second – if you do book then you will be turned away as it is national guidance for it to be 8 weeks and not before. The Walk-In service will be available for second doses as well but only if you had your first 8 weeks or more ago and it was Pfizer. Please do not turn up if it has not been 8 weeks.

BOOTS – NORTHBROOK STREET
The Vaccination Centre is still open on the first floor of BOOTS located in Northbrook Street. Appointments for here can be booked via the national booking system https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

SECOND JABS

If for whatever reason you could not get your second jab with us but we did your first, it is not too late. You can book your second jab on the national booking system at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or call 119. It is really important that you get your second dose because it offers greatest protection from covid and especially the Delta variant.
