New data shows that prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men in England so it's important to know the facts and make sure you get yourself checked if something doesn't feel right.

Prostate Cancer usually develops slowly, which means there may be no signs or symptoms for many years.

The chances of developing prostate cancer increase as you get older with most cases developing in men aged 50 and over and it is more common in black men.

If something in your body doesn't feel right, contact your GP practice for an appointment. For more information on prostate cancer visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/prostate-cancer/

With the Christmas and New Year holiday period fast approaching make sure you stay prepared and healthy and avoid any unnecessary trips to the pharmacy by stocking up on medicines and other medical supplies. Things to think about include:

* Pain Relief (ibuprofen/paracetamol)
* Cold and flu remedies
* Plasters and other basic first-aid supplies
* Any regular prescription medications you take, ensure you put your request in now to make sure you have it in time. Most surgeries have a 2-3 day turn around for all prescription requests
