This week I had the pleasure of visiting the incredible team at Eight Bells. πŸ’›

Eight Bells have been beautifully supporting people in Newbury, Thatcham and the surrounding areas for nearly 20 years.

I walked in and found groups chatting in the garden, bingo in the main room, art in another β€” and I’d just missed the morning drama session. All of it humming with a real sense of community and belonging.

I was made to feel so welcome and I was blown away by what they do.

Eight Bells supports people experiencing mental health issues, loneliness and isolation. If this sounds like someone you know, please do look them up. πŸ’›

Still Here sits alongside organisations like this β€” we are here for the families and friends. Different services, same community. Same heart.
Because we are stronger together.

A huge thank you to Eight Bells for the warm welcome and for everything you do. You are an inspiration. πŸ™

This week for stress awareness month, we are focusing on how to just...let it out.

Sometimes when life gets too overwhelming, we just need to let it out. You can do this by :

πŸ—¨ Talking to someone - this can be someone close to you, a therapist, or a friend. Sharing your thoughts can help you feel less alone.

✍Write it down - Getting your thoughts down on paper can help see your thoughts clearer.

πŸ₯ŠBe physically active - Going for a brisk walk or participating in a sport can help reduce stress.

Letting your thoughts out, doesn't make the stress bigger, it can make it more manageable, feel less intense and help you feel a bit more calmer.

Be kind to yourself this week, you are doing better than you thinkπŸ’š.

Life is a puzzle 🧩.

Where each day adds a piece to a larger, unfolding picture πŸ–Ό.

Connecting the pieces of life together requires patience, resilience, and time. But just know that every moment - even the difficult ones - will contribute to our final masterpiece πŸ’š.

Stress Awareness 3.

Last week we focused on how to breaking down our mental overload 🧠.

This week, we are focusing on you, and putting a fun twist to help you to reduce stress.

This week, focus on doing something that feels like you ✨. For example, you can:

🎨 Practice your favourite hobby i.e. art (it is also world art day today), drama, playing a musical instrument etc.

πŸ€ Be physically active i.e. partaking in your favourite sport, going out for a brisk walk / jog.

πŸ“– Learn something new i.e. research, trying out a new video game, listening to your favourite music.

😻 Spending time with your animal friends i.e. playing with your cat, walking the dog etc.

Everyone has a different way of winding down, and reducing stress. It doesn't matter if you are sporty, arty or even a smarty...just make sure it's about you πŸ’š!
