I will be the first to admit that I am not very good at keeping this page up to date! You only need to look at the date of the last post to realise that. Clearly the last 2 years have not been "normal" in many respects. They do still remain different. However, we are open to see patients & have been throughout. There are still some changes which include wearing of face coverings whilst attending appointments. Essentially we are back treating patients & offering them advice on their rehabilitation. All this is face to face. If you would like to arrange an appointment please ring 07747535799. Please leave a message if it goes to voicemail.

As we all start to enter Lockdown 2.0 can I inform everyone that as a Physiotherapy Practice we are permitted to remain open during this time.
Obviously we will be continue using all the PPE required for this to happen. Patients will be screened & will also be required to wear a mask to ensure both patients & therapist are safe.
There is & will continue to be the capacity to see & treat patients remotely.

We've been open & seeing patients Face to Face for three weeks now. Systems are in place to ensure that everyone is safe & feels safe. Clearly very different but we are all getting to used to it. Good to be back helping patients with their problems. We still have the option of remote consultations for those where it is still appropriate.
So if you are having problems with that neck, back, shoulder, knee etc get in touch.
Contact us on 07747535799. Please leave a message if it goes to voice mail & we will get back in touch as soon as we can.
Remember, if you have private medical insurance that we are on the preferred provider list of these companies. So if you have physiotherapy cover you should be able to claim your charges. Please do check you policy.

TUESDAY 30 JUNE
CLERE PHYSIOTHERAPY OPEN TO SEE PATIENTS FACE TO FACE FROM MONDAY 6TH JULY

Today (Tuesday 30 June) we can announce that from Monday 6th July we will be able to see & treat people on a Face to Face basis.

Clearly things will not be as they used to be. As Chartered Physiotherapists we are still being advised to consider remote (video) consultations where possible & appropriate. Following an initial assessment if we feel that our patient requires a Face to Face consultation we will be in a position to offer this.

We will be wearing all the appropriate PPE & our patients will be required to wear a surgical mask at their appointment. The room will be cleaned between patients. All of this is in place to ensure the safety of our patients & ourselves.

If we make an appointment with you we will send more details to you.

We are extremely pleased that we have finally arrived at this point & look forward to hearing from patients – old & new!

If you would like to organise an appointment or discuss things in greater detail please contact us on either 07747535799 or send an email to andrew@clerephysio.co.uk.

Please Share this everyone!

Hi folks,
Hope that everyone is well during these very strange times?
It crossed my mind recently that with all this extra time that everyone has on their hands there might be a tendency to "over do it"!
I'm thinking of those that might be running more often they usually would, or those out cycling for the first time in ages, or those tempted in to the garden! Especially, with the weather finally coming good.
So over the next couple of days some advice on what might help.
Today - Gardening
Advice - pace yourself! You don't need to do everything in one day.
Try & break your sessions in to small segments. As little as 20 min sessions then try the following exercise.
Gardening involves a great deal of bending, regardless of any digging that you might be doing.
Performing this exercise will help to reduce the load that you have placed on your back.
Only go back as far as is comfortable & try to perform 10 reps.

An update on our current situation.

This time last week we were still treating patients, whilst taking the necessary precautions. At the weekend The Therapy Centre, at Deanwood Park was closed. At this point we were able to use another location, temporarily. However, by Monday, social distancing advice was making it difficult for us to justify treating patients face to face, regardless of precautions that we were taking. This was further confirmed, that day by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, who directed all physiotherapists nationally to suspended face to face treatment consultations within the out patient environment. This very definitely includes us.

Our professional body has been in touch with most of the major private medical insurance companies & have gained permission for us to conduct assessments & treatment sessions via remote consultations, using video technology. These consultations will be covered by the patients current policy.

Clearly, as a "hands on profession" this is not ideal. However, most of our treatment techniques are complimented by an exercise regime. Some conditions are best treated with exercises. These exercises can be to help with movement & others to help with strength. We can give advice & tips on pain management, We can give advice & tips on management of swelling & inflammation. So we can help.

It will be strange, & there will some difficulties but I'm sure that these will improve as we all use this technology more.

On occasions we may be able to demonstrate exercises during the consultation & on other occasions we might direct patients to websites that we know about, & are good, where patients can see exercises being performed.

Please bear with us during this time & do stay safe!

If you would like to discuss any of this please give me a ring on 07747 535799. If we feel that a remote consultation would be beneficial & you are happy to go ahead we will arrange how & when this can take place.

Finally, on a different note DO be aware that physiotherapist that work within the hospital environment on the wards & especially in respiratory care WILL be continuing to treat patients face to face as part of the important treatment & fight against this current emergency.
