23/09/2025

From 22nd to 28th of September is National Eye Health Week, led by Eye Health UK, is the UK's largest independent eye care campaign, running annually in the last full week of September to promote good vision and reduce avoidable sight loss.
Nearly 2 million UK adults live with sight loss severe enough to significantly affect daily life and around half of this is preventable.
Routine sight tests can detect silent conditions like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, or high blood pressure, often before symptoms appear.
So, what you can do?
- Book an eye test if you haven’t had one in the last two years
- Share this post to encourage others to prioritise their eye health
- Support healthier eye habits (spend at least 2 hours outdoors daily, eat foods rich in eye-safe nutrients and antioxidants, protect eyes from UV rays and avoid smoking)
When did you last have an eye exam?
Have you ever discovered a health issue through an eye test?
Share your experience in comments below to remind others that vision health matters.

Youth Mental Health Day takes place in the UK on 19th of September each year and focuses exclusively on mental wellbeing in children and young people aged 8–25.
Mental Health Foundation
This year’s theme is - encouraging connection, peer support and access to evidence-based resources for young people.

Peer encouragement and connection can reduce isolation and promote emotional resilience, key goals of this year's campaign.
Do you support a young person who struggled with mental health?
What do you think would make support more accessible or caring?
Drop your experience, or ideas in the comments. Your insight can help others feel less alone and more empowered.

From 16th to 22nd of September 2025 is Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects over 400 000 people in the UK and is often misunderstood. It’s not just "aches and pains" - it's a serious autoimmune condition that causes chronic pain, fatigue and can impact daily life in invisible ways.
This week is about:
- Educating the public and healthcare professionals about what RA really is
- Challenging myths and stereotypes surrounding visible disability and “invisible illness”
- Promoting early diagnosis, proper treatment, and holistic support, from physical management to mental wellbeing
Do you or someone you know live with RA? What helps most? What do you wish more people understood?
Share your thoughts in the comments to show support.
