I asked clients to join me in a CV style value stacking research exercise. I wanted to know what we all had in common, as I work with people of different ages from diverse industries.
The exercise was to discover how we value and sell ourselves. See comments đ
Based on this exercise I can confirm, there are others like me. We have many sleeping thought leaders amongst us.
What I am discovering is that some High Achievers often struggle to see their hidden expertise as value because it feels like âjust my life,â not a legitimate skillset.
Experiences that forged deep wisdom often arrived as crises or responsibilities, so we file them under survival, not mastery.
What is effortless now gets dismissed as ordinary, even though it was earned through years of unseen practice and refinement.
We compare ourselves to loud, polished experts and assume value only counts when itâs branded, certified, or externally approved.
Our inner flame is quietly burning with insights, but the imposter story acts like a veil, convincing us itâs not âspecial enough.â
We mistake lack of recognition for lack of worth, instead of seeing it as lack of visibility, ahead of its time and lack of language for what we already carry.
Relationships and past roles that accelerated our growth get archived as memories instead of recognized as training grounds.
Because we canât easily quantify lived experience, we undervalue it, even when others are transformed simply by being around us.
Why is this important? As AI rolls out we need to move from the Knowledge Era into the Imagination Era and these Sleeping Thought Leaders are the key.
I have been creating my Metamorphosis program for those people. It is a living program. It grows based on the new insights as they appear, offering multiple experiences to create deep shifts.
This month my challenge was, experimenting to find ways to support sleeping thought leaders to reframe their life story as a lineage of expertise, not a random collection of events.
I have discovered that typical transformation processes do not work, because we are more likely to believe our failures than recognise our successes. Its almost built into our High Achiever internal operating system.
Metamorphosis is a jail break from unassuming into heart led thought leadership. It is about building tools to allow a complete focus shift, firstly to help reflect back at us, our true genius, secondly to reveal the ways we ignore, or even hide it. Thirdly a container to experience social proof.
When we do, our hidden depths become visible value and we finally see they are worthy of being shared, rewarded, and compensated.
If this sounds like you, I am looking to widen my research to entreprenures, or managers to see if those already in a thought leadership role also share similarities. You'll get a short analysis in return.
To apply DM "Thought Leader" and your current role.
