The Speech House Specialising in child communication excellence we provide Independent Paediatric Speech and Language Services to children from 2 -18 years in Berkshire.

Welcome to The Speech House, one of West Berkshire’s leading and most well respected Independent Speech and Language Therapy Practices. We provide Speech and Language Therapy to children aged from 1-18 years with a range of difficulties including unclear speech, difficulty understanding or using language, difficulty socially interacting with others and young children who stutter. The Speech House allows you to access speech and language therapy for your child in a positive and fun environment in which your child’s speech, language and social communication skills will be encouraged and enhanced. You can gain advice and therapy for your child from highly experienced and well supported therapists whose knowledge and expertise compliment their passion to help each child develop to their full potential. The Speech House works with you and your child’s school/ nursery to enable your child to carry over their communication skills into different settings and to help to develop your child’s confidence in their ability to communicate anywhere. It's been a while, Covid happened and I have been working on a VERY exciting project (more about that later) but I am delighted to say that The Speech House will be open over the summer. 🌈Speech and Language Therapy sessions via Zoom - I never dreamt I'd enjoy them as much as I am 😍. Some children took to it immediately and some have warmed to it (with some extra rewards!) but I am so impressed by how resilient and positive the children are and what fun we can have via video🤩. Now restrictions are relaxing we can start to offer a more flexible service again (including some face to face sessions) but we can always continue with these if they work well for the children and families. ⭐️😍

In these turbulent times we just wanted to let you know, we are here for you. We are currently working on how best to set up teletherapy sessions and I will be posting more ideas on here for how to work on Speech and Language at home. We can set up specific programmes for our current families or we would love to see you online if you'd rather we work directly with your child. And we're off, new term, new timetables and managed to start with an excellent day of training yesterday. Learning about some of the latest research and new ideas for working with children with articulation difficulties. If you have a child who is struggling to make themselves understood we'd be delighted to help.

Summer holidays are great. My chance to source and try out some new games with my own children. We all need new games/ resources to keep the sessions motivating and fun (not just for the children)! Happy Summer everyone🌞
