Notification of Road Closure on Friday, 12 September 2025

Dear Patients and Customers,

We require to inform you of an upcoming road closure that will directly impact The Downland Pharmacy & The Downland Practice on Friday, 12 September 2025. The closure will be in effect from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

I understand that this may cause some inconvenience to both staff and patients, and I appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this one-time disruption.

The mitigations we have put in place for operational delivery for patients are as follows:

• We will contacted all patients by phone and text that have appointments on Friday and informed them that they must allow additional time to park up and arrive for their appointments.
• Those patients with mobility issues & blue badge holders will be authorised to come through to the practice by the traffic control.
• Blue Light Services will be permitted at any time should we require.
• Pharmacy Stock has been incresased to reduce the number of deliveries on Friday morning.
• Practice Manager has contacted the Bloods & Samples services & Midwives to inform them that they will need to park up and walk round to the surgery to collect samples and attend appointments
• The Downland Pharmacy will remain open for the duration patients will need to enter East Lane from the Oxford Road junction and park on the left of the road and walk to The Downland Pharmacy and The Downland Practice

The Downland Pharmacy & The Downland Practice are CLOSED on Monday 25 August 2025 for the Public Holiday.

The Downland Practice are having a small refurbishment and we have a few items up for grabs if anyone would like them!

They can be picked up for free or you can make a small donation and we will give any money made to the Foodbank that we already support via our donation bins in reception.

The Downland Pharmacy and The Downland Practice are closed tomorrow Wednesday 25 June 2025 from 12:30pm for practice led training. We will re-open on Thursday 26 June at 8:30am.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, these training sessions are very rare and are essential for staff to attend with the goal of improving our systems and process to the benefit of our patients.

Should you require an urgent appointment or urgent medication please contact NHS 111.

Easter Public Holiday - Pharmacy Closures

The Downland Pharmacy & Compton Dispensary will be closed over the Easter period however should you require to access a Pharmacy during this time we have linked a copy of the map and attached pictures of the QR Code and Berkshire Opening Hours document.

We have also accomodated our patients to ensure that anyone that is due to collect their repeat prescriptions on Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April when we are closed have been brought forward to earlier in the week.

We do send out Text Messages to patients when medication is ready to collect. If you dont currently receive a text please ask at the front counter and we will update your consent preferences to enable you to receive text messages this is an opt-in system.

We would like to thank all our patients for their continued support and wish you all a happy and blessed Easter.

The Downland Pharmacy & Dispensary will be CLOSED this afternoon from 1pm - 5:30pm. This is due to undertaking vital training and development sessions for all staff.

We will re-open at 5:30pm for 1 hour and close again at 6:30pm as normal.
