How incredibly proud are we to be able to say that this wonderful human being is our Club President.
Alethea always gives her all to everything and will make time to have a friendly chat and give fantastic advice, whenever needed.
One in a million and we are so glad she has been recognised at National level. Very well deserved indeed.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our very own Alethea Snelling, who was elected Life Vice President of the Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs.

Alethea’s nomination was proposed by Chair Hadley Glover and seconded by Grace Welling () . Their heartfelt speeches perfectly highlighted Alethea’s remarkable YFC journey of over 40 years from Club through to National level – a journey marked by her quiet dedication, unwavering support, encouragement, and unmistakable can‑do attitude.

“Her passion, loyalty and tireless service have inspired generations, strengthened the organisation, and upheld the very values that Young Farmers stands for.”

“Her contribution has been constant, selfless, and invaluable.”

“Alethea has never sought praise – but the loudest applause is reserved for those who earn it in silence.”

It is absolutely fitting that Alethea receives this recognition at national level. We are immensely proud and deeply grateful for everything she has done – and continues to do – for YFC in Berkshire and far beyond .

Congratulations, Alethea. We are all incredibly lucky to have you.

What a fantastic weekend we have had with Berkshire Young Farmers, hosting the Pre-Show.😁
We started bright and early on the Saturday with the Clay Shooting. A great turnout and some fantastic shooting too.
Sunday also started early, with stock judging running throughout the day, auctioneering, cookery and fencing in the afternoon.
A huge thank you to Kingsclere Estates for kindly letting us host at Pitt Hall Farm and special thanks to the parents who ran the food stall for the day😋Young Farmers are always hungry!!
Looking forward to seeing all the results when they come through, but regardless of the results, well done to each and every member for having a go. We are a very proud club 🥰

The start of pre-show - horse 🐎 stock judging. This evening a few of our members were stock judging hunter horses.
A great skill and hunter horses have a specific purpose, so it was good to hear the feedback and pick up tips from the lovely judge, Sue.
More stock judging to come this weekend.

Wow, what a morning we have had in Beautiful Kingsclere at Park House Stables.
We were kindly hosted by Annalisa who showed us some of the beautiful horses they are currently training along with a tour of the yard and the gallops to look at some of the young horses riding out.
We learnt loads about the management of the training and the yard.
Thank you so much for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Cheesy? Or just reality?

Victoria Ackrill says Young Farmers has given her everything! She's made lifelong friends at Shefford YFC in Berkshire Young Farmers and developed skills and confidence in every area of her life since joining 15 years ago.

Victoria is now giving back to her club and county as she's determined to ensure YFC continues for future generations. She is now in her third year as County Social Chair and understands the importance of bringing people together to raise funds and make connections.

Victoria is hoping to win the Senior Member of the Year title at this year's national final in Montgomeryshire on 25 April, where she will be sharing how important it is for all levels of the organisation to be connected.

Victoria said: "The knowlege I've gained from talks and visits, the connections I've made at socials and competitions, and the confidence encouraged by friends and leaders, all shaped me into who I am today."

A great evening tonight, with stock judging of cakes (always allow for food when Young Farmers are involved 🤣) thank you to Jools for running this fun workshop.
We also showed the members the new fencing equipment the club has bought and ran through how to safely use it.
Finally, the tug of war rope was dusted off and we had tug of war practise in the twilight, what fun that was, special thanks to Nick for coaching the members. Lovely to be outside again in the evening.
