Newbury Young Farmers A club for 10-28 year olds who have an interest in all aspects of agriculture and farming. We meet every other Wednesday 7.15-9pm.

A quieter meeting tonight due to half term, but still enjoyed by all. 😁
Tonight, we tested our cookery skills with a Ready Steady Cook/YFC Masterchef competition. 🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳
Some amazing skills were on show and we welcomed County President, Anne and Club Chair, Ethan as a judges.
Billy won first place with his chicken and vegetables and Max came second with his all day breakfast and Leo came third with his rice crispy cakes.

Tonight, farriers Darren Doyle and Phillip Rigolli paid us a visit and showed us their craft.
They took the time to show us how they construct and build a horse shoe and also let us know about their fascinating past lives and careers.
A huge thank you to Darren and Phillip for giving up their time at our club tonight, our members are all truly grateful.

Brilliant morning at the dodgeball competition, kindly hosted by Bradfield (thank you Bradfield 😁).
Newbury came 3rd and had a brilliant time playing. 🥰
The morning was finished by a mammoth game with the parents not being able to resist joining in and everyone having a go. Thank you also to the umpires from Berkshire Dodgeball.

A fabulous evening spent at Tadley fire station with the members learning about how the station deals with semi rural and rural situations.
We were shown around the fire truck along with all of the equipment (there is a lot!) and shown what it is used for. The members got to have a go with the high pressure hose. 🚒🧯🔥💦

Lots of enthusiasm and ideas and we can’t wait for the Country Fayre on the 17th May to show off our show classes and take part in the practical classes on the day. 😁
