Monkeys fed soy-based diets were observed to have-
🟥Increased aggression
🟥Heightened submissiveness
🟥Reduced social interaction
There’s a notable study from 2004 published in *Hormones and Behavior* It found that adult male cynomolgus macaques fed diets high in soy protein and isoflavones over 15 months showed increased aggressive behavior (67% higher), heightened submissiveness (203% higher), and reduced social interaction compared to those on a control diet without soy isoflavones. They spent less time in physical contact with others (down 68%) and more time alone (up 30%). The researchers suggested this could be linked to the estrogen-like effects of soy isoflavones interacting with estrogen receptors in the brain.
